Excellent warranty, blocks light
Quiet, strong, with a remote. After a couple of years, it started making a grinding sound and I called and they sent a new one quickly. I've since bought two more. A note for people who like dark rooms is that it moves a lot of air but still blocks the light so it won't defeat your black out shades, which is a solid advantage over the kind that look like two circles. The only disadvantage is that it can't move air both in and out at the same time, but simply picking a direction and opening another window or door even a little bit let's it move air through the room quickly.

Works great!(:
The fan is true to size, it fit perfectly in my window and it gives my room great air circulation. It doesn’t have that perfect seal from the outside but it still regulates the room temperature quite well. It isn’t the most quiet fan but it isn’t too loud either. I sleep with it on in my room just fine.

Good Fan, Though Tricky to Set Up
The fan itself works very well. It's not too noisy, and on the lowest setting works good as a white noise generator as well as a cooling system for when you're sleeping, depending on how far the window is from your bed (in my case it was less than three feet away from mine). The temperature detection feature works alright as well; you can set it to a particular temperature and whenever the room gets too hot it'll activate and blow in cool air until it gets low enough, after which it'll shut off by itself. Of course this can result in the fan turning itself on and off at regular intervals, which can be annoying. I also like how the fan's airflow can be reversed with just a push of a button, allow air to blow out of the window instead of being drawn in through it. This is handy not just for maintaining good airflow to help get rid of excess humidity, it can also help get rid of smoke and unpleasant odors you might have- one time I was changing a vacuum bag and accidentally spilled the old one on the floor, and this fan helped get rid of the musty smell that lingered after cleanup. The biggest issue I have with it, or at least one that I think most people would have with it, is the foam rubber inserts used to fill in the gaps for the window frame on either side of the fan. They come in three different sizes (1 inch, 2 inches, and 4 inches wide), and I managed to find which ones fit the window perfectly, but it was a bit of a hassle both to figure that out and to actually get them securely in the window frame, requiring me to hold three things steady on one side while I wedged another thing in on the other side. But also one thing to consider is not just the width, but the height- I don't know what your window frame is like, but the inside of mine has a slight incline (probably from the house settling over the years), and the way the fan and blocks are designed they can only stay upright if they're being held snugly between the sliding window from above while sitting on the windowsill, so if your window frame is a bit warped like mine or just a bit lower than usual, the blocks will be too short and fall over. I had to slap on several layers of duct tape on the bottom of each block in order to make them tall enough to fit properly. And of course, if you're taking the fan out of the window to put away for the winter, you have to consider where to put the blocks, both the extras you don't need and the ones you used for the window, so it takes up a bit more space in storage, and personally I prefer appliances like this to have as few loose accessories as possible.Still, aside from the minor annoyances of the blocks, this fan has served me well in the last few months, and hopefully will continue to do so.

Perfect! Great purchase!
Wow! What a great difference it made in the comfort of our bedroom during hot, hot summer days! The fit in the window is genius. It doesn’t block the window view. With the remote, it was easy to adjust the fan speed and direction without having to get up in the middle of the night to do it. The negative reviews make no sense - it is not supposed to be an air conditioner for Pete’s sake! It is a fan! And it has worked great for us all summer, helping to keep our room cool. It seems well made and we highly recommend it!

I really would have loved to loved this fan
I really would have loved to loved this fan!The fan does not make a seal from outside air when it is in the exhaust mode, but not turned on. It’s a good try and better than any other. I have seen as far as an attempt to stop airflow.. It is quieter than other fans Although if it really had four speeds that were discernible, it might be quieter. The fan brings in outside air when in exhaust mode, so hot air comes in even when it’s supposed to be exhausting air from inside the room. The four speed settings really seem to have only two speeds. The soft fit foam block system is not a snug secure seal. The electronic hand touch controls are difficult to work and sometimes don’t work at all. It is not easy to adjust speed or change settings ,without using the remote control .

Bathroom ventilation
So, we found a suspicious leak in one of our walls. Come to find out our bathroom vent fan is vented into our attic and not to the outside. In winter time, it's too cold for the moist air to vent through the attic fan, and thus condensates and leaks down one of our walls. Homeownership is fun!We do plan to renovate the problematic bathroom in the next few years and properly vent the fan through the roof. In the meantime I ordered this fan to get us by until then. Thankfully, we have a window in this bathroom but merely opening it wasn't cutting it. And who wants to open the window wide for a stretch of time in the winter? This fan saved us and gets the bathroom dry fairly well. It's quiet, the remote is super handy and the spacers help it fit nicely in the window with the screen in place. When the fan is operating at full speed, it gets the bathroom clear quick. There are a few cons though. The spacers and fan do not make it airtight whatsoever. Lots of gaps and air coming in. The fan itself also lets cold air in through the blades. It is not something we can keep in the window all the time. We pop it in at out as needed. Thankfully, it's durable and easy to place in the window and take out when not in use. This little, powerful fan really saved us and the integrity of our home. Now to save for that bathroom reno!

Great fan. Quiet, nice looking. We own 3
We now own 3 of these fans. They replaced fans we had to turn around nightly to either let cool air in or exhaust hot air out. The Vornado fans are quiet, easy to use, with the click of a button we can change the direction of air. Very happy we purchased as they look nice in the windows and take up less space than our previous fans.
