When on a ketosis diet how often do you test?

test in the morning with glucose and calculate your glucose:ketone index ratio. It's interesting to test after meals to see how foods affect the results. If you're like me in the beginning you'll test often out of curiosity and also naturally finding out how your levels can fluctuate throughout the day. In the end, you just want to feel justified that what you are eating is doing what you think it is doing. Well, if you think about it if you are minimizing your carbs (<50g/day) and limiting your protein (<1g/1lb body weight/day)while eating sufficient daily calories mostly coming from fat, then you can simply know you are in ketosis because otherwise you'd be dead.

Why it shows me only ketons and not glucose level?

I just ordered these and the box said "No coding required." Does that mean I don't have to calibrate the meter?

I bought those too, the readings with the no-calibration strips still came out as 0.1's almost all the time with occasional 0.2's just like the first set of calibrated strips that I had bought with the meter originally. I'm an engineer and don't know exactly how they do it, but nanoscale manufacturing these days is doing amazing things so maybe the calibration sample is on the strip sub-microscopically and we simply can't see it. Just follow the instructions and be happy.
