Not too soft (which was a concern) and it soaks up all the pressure points. And, not hot or warm (another concern) seems to be just right in that area. The XL Twin fit this new frame in width, but the mattress was 2 " too long in the length. I checked the measurements. It was the frame too short... So watch the frame. .. they don't have accurate measurements. This mattress is sure to measurement.

I’ve recently been suffering from continuous neck, back and hip pain and have pinpointed the source as this mattress. I went back in my Amazon orders to see when I purchased this mattress and am shocked to see that it was in September of 2018 and today’s date is January 14, 2020 so not even 2 years have passed with this mattress that supposedly has a 10 year warranty(3 year limited) I purchased my Casper mattress right after giving birth to my now 2 year old daughter. I needed a firmer mattress and was between buying a Casper or Purple brand mattress. I eventually chose Casper after seeing it on Amazons daily deals and believing they had superior customer service. Which couldn’t be further from the fact... To be honest I really didn’t care for the mattress from the get go. When we received the mattress we were dissapointes by the size/thickness.The Casper mattress it’s self is abut 3/4 as thick as what one would call a regular basic size mattress. Life at that time was chaotic with a new baby, We chose not to return it despite our unsatisfaction and make the best of the situation because we would of been responsible for shipping costs to return a king size mattress and be sleeping on the floor waiting for the refund to process. To compensate for the difference in thickness we bought a thick mattress topper and a mattress protector/pad. After that we didnt have any complaints or problems for the first year. THen slowly I started to get minor aches/pains and tossed and turned at night but I initially thought it was work or I slept wrong etc. When my pain got to the point where I couldn’t ignore it anymore. My husband and I tried the most obvious solutions like rotating the mattress, new pillows, another pillow topper, multiple massages none of these interventions helped and it became absolutely clear the pain im suffering from is a direct result of this mattress losing support. When I wake up I feel like I’ve been beaten, I’m stiff and sore with nagging aches in posterior hips (which I’ve never had pain here before) Just for reference sake. I am a very slender female and only weigh 130 pounds. I do yoga several times a week to keep my muscles from getting tight. My husband is also not a “big guy” 5’10” 160 so there is no reason for this mattress to decompensate so quickly. Casper refers to what we described as “normal softening” over time so they can get a way not honoring their warranty/guarantee. so now Im in pain, in need of a new mattress and have wasted a couple thousand dollars.. I almost never leave reviews for products but I felt that I MUST WARN anyone considering purchasing this brand!! Don’t just take my word, look them up!!, the Casper company has gotten a lot of negative publicity in the news lately. The company Itself is not making any profits and is inundated with returns. I can completely see why... My only hope is for the company to read this review and do the right thing and return or replace this mattress. If anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears. I hope this helps someone.

Everyone’s body is different. So a mattress specificity is complicated at times. This is my first new mattress in years. I was skeptical about a bed-in-Box, but nonetheless curious. Casper is amazing. It’s not a memory foam or mattress, it’s... “Casper”. It’s exceptional. From hip and back pain, to size, to quality. It’s all 5 star. I haven’t had a good nights sleep in years. Casper solves that problem. I’ve only had a short time, but my sleep has been great. Thanks Casper.

I am a back sleeper and I had been experiencing pain on a daily morning basis with my old mattress. I am thrilled with the essential casper. After the first night's sleep I noticed I no longer had neck pain. After the second night's sleep and since then, both neck and back pain had stopped. So far I don't find it to be a heat trapping mattress. I will of course update this review anything changes or unreasonably degrades, but hopefully it won't. I use this mattress with the casper foundation to hopefully ensure longevity. I will also say do your research. Some people with various sleep preferences (side, back, stomach) and different body weight might/might not like this particular mattress. YMMV.

Loving this mattress. Took about a week to get used to how dense it is but now I sleep great! We have a cal king and often our kids will get into our bed. With our old pillow top mattress we used to roll into each other, that doesn’t happen any more!
