This product has been a real blessing because it’s unsweetened, bland, and has 25 g protein per serving (2 scoops = 1 serving). I’ve got Stage IV lung cancer, and really need the protein boost, because I gag when eating solid food. So I am now resorting to protein supplements to give me the needed nutrition. And most protein drinks / powders are unacceptable to me - they’re sweetened, dairy-based, or use unacceptable ingredients like soy or inflammation-inducing oils. My taste buds can’t handle the typical sweetness level of the sweetened protein powders. Besides, I really don’t like stevia! And my gut track reacts very unfavorably to most dairy-based products. In my opinion this is the best of the available vegan protein powders: there is NO pea protein aftertaste, and its very bland flavor makes it ideal to mix with whatever you like. The bland taste allows you to throw it into baked goods or drinks. Since there’s no sweetener in this formulation, you can sweeten it to suit your taste buds - if your taste buds are very sensitive to sweet, you can add just a tad of sweetener and not gag. Yes, it is chalky, but mixing it in a blender with coffee, cream, and ice (and, for me, just a tad of sweetener) renders it quite acceptable to me. It’s also reasonably acceptable in a golden milk (turmeric, coconut milk, cinnamon, cardamom, etc.) recipe with cream added - just keep stirring to keep it in suspension. In my opinion it’s best in drinks or baked goods — definitely not great in soups. When ordering, be aware that Promix makes at least two versions of this vegan protein powder - this one, with a little sprouted brown rice, has no aftertaste. Another version has only pea protein , and the description for that version says that it has an “earthy” taste (which is probably one reason I don’t like most of the pea protein powders I’ve had).

Awesome product. I bought the unflavored protein and have no problem with the taste, but I'm not very big on taste when it comes to my health. I have tried worse tasting proteins and this is good considering how clean it is. As I’ve taken it more, I’m on my 4th or 5th tub, I’ve grown to like it and have no problem with the taste at all. I can take it plain, nothing but water. Mixes well by itself and doesn’t overpower other ingredients you mix it with. There’s only 3 ingredients, brown rice protein, pea protein and vitamin B. No added sugars, sweeteners, flavors or preservatives which is awesome considering other " health " products do. It's definitely a good bargain considering you get more servings (78) than dollars you spend ($55-$60). I also like that each serving has 25 grams of protein and only 115 calories. I haven't found another vegan product with a bette, or even comparable, serving/price ratio and the protein/calorie ratio of the vegan promix. Very satisfied and will continue to use. If there is a knock against this product……… the powder is so fine that it can get kinda messy if you're not careful. Not a big deal at all, barely worth mentioning but I wanted to be honest and give as much info as I could. If you're looking for a clean vegan protein with ingredients that you can actually pronounce give promix a try.

I love this protein powder. If course the taste takes some getting used to but I about or now and it's so much better than others I've tried. It's great mixed in oatmeal or just shaken with water. It disolves nicely, and isn't chalky.

Not worth the price.

I opted to begin using a plant derived protein supplement because whey powders were just tormenting my stomach. This was one of the few complete protein options that includes both pea as well as brown rice proteins in one formula and is free of artificial ingredients and added sugars. So as far as the health profile it is an 5-star powder that leaves my stomach feeling normal. Where I take issue with the product is the taste. I wasn’t expecting this to taste great from the outset, it is unflavored after all and I’ve tried a lot of unflavored powders in my day. Unlike other reviewers I found the taste to be overbearing no matter what is mixed into it. My primary purpose for buying unflavored is to avoid sugars altogether, so having to add a number of other things to mask a strong unsavory flavor sure feels counter productive. For myself a clean protein is the most important factor so I don’t mind chugging this like a tequila shot, but if you are sensitive to icky flavors and/or are looking for something that’s tastes decent and blends well with other ingredients this is probably not it. UPDATE: After months of regular use I became more accustomed to the taste of this protein and did not have the same reflexive response to it that I did during the initial trial period. I tried a variety of fruits and vegetable mix-ins and found a simple recipe of a banana with cacao powder was the best combo to take the pea-ness down a notch.
