Smart, works but more expensive then I assumed.

Why did you choose this product over others?: This seems to be the only dimming smart plug available on Amazon. It's understandable that this type of device is not as popular as other smart home devices. It's an odd way to achieve dimming when usually you'd just use an Alexa bulb or an Alexa light switch. It's also fair to say that using it wrongly could even damage sensitive equipment by supplying the wrong voltage. However, for certain types of bulb it is absolutely perfect and as far as I can tell, no one has yet brought to market an R7S 118mm dimmable LED floodlight bulb that works with Alexa. In the full knowledge that this smart plug must only be used with dimming light bulbs, I have upgraded my floor standing up lighter lamp and with a normal R7S dimmable LED floodlight bulb my light is now as dimmable as any other smart bulb. It works really well and I'm so glad I found it.

Very hard to set up. The instructions are completely bonkers and don’t work. The only way to get them into set up mode is to press the button 3 times, and even then you have to repeat the process several times before the software ( I tried two different apps recommended but both were exactly the same). The help pages always suggest that your WiFi is at fault and not the product ( I have excellent Wi-Fi throughout the house with several signal repeaters). My router uses both 2.4 & 5 ghz so no incompatibility from my end. Once you do get the software to respond it’s not long before they drop off line again meaning you have to reinstall each device from scratch again. USELESS!

Firstly, having read some reviews about connection niggles, I was a little discombobulated about what my experience of using this would be. Yes I used the word discombobulated. I needn’t have been. This was about as simple and as easy as it could have possibly been. It works perfectly to dim my outside festoon lights via Alexa voice controls and now we can set the mood lighting accordingly. Groovy! This is how hard it was: Got the app on my phone. Plug my lights in and turn the gadget on. App finds gadget instantly and asks for WiFi password. Success. Press button on app to link with Alexa. Success. Jump to Alexa app and press ok. Done. I can now ask Alexa to have the lights from 0% - 100%. It. Just. Works. Recommended.

Great smart plug with built in dimmer, very easy to pair with existing smartlife app used for multiple other devices controls outdoor led garden lights a treat can even use alexa to control. Quite pricey compared to my other smart plugs but that's probably due to dimming function. Would buy again

Easy set up, works well with Alexa

Smartlife App recognised it as soon as it was turned on. Up and working in under 2 minutes from unpacking. Alexa recognised it moments later. Used to dim garden lights.
