A: I use it in my home sewing machine that belonged to my grandmother.  But, if you’re putting fire gear through it you may want to get a little heavier duty machine.  I just had to upgrade mine and found an awesome White machine for $45 and the thread is awesome in it!

A: Best I can measure with my digital calipers, it appears to be about 0.005 inches, or roughly 125 microns, which is 0.125 mm in diameter. It appears to be a little thicker than standard cotton thread, but you can still sew with it using a standard sewing needle.
