Works great for centering the front and rear seals
There is no plate to flush up the rear cover like there is for the front. Not sure I have seen one offered in an after market tool though. Still don't know why GM didn't just put locating dowel pins in to align the covers. This will definitely center the front and rear seals, but as you know, it's more about trying to keep them centered and adjusting the plate so as not to hang over the edge or to be to high or low on one side. Probably could do the job without these tools but it did simplify centering the seals on the crank shaft. Materiel did seem to be pretty nice and was finished well.
