Really pretty fixture but a god-awful mess to install
Although it is very pretty and was exactly what I wanted, it was an absolute horror to install. I was doing a simple straight track on a pitched ceiling, seems like it should have been pretty straightforward but of course it was not. First stop, installing the ceiling support brackets. I can't speak for a curved track installation, but for straight track installation you better make sure that not one of your drill holes is out of alignment even by a fraction of a centimeter because it throws the entire track off. Next Step would be the track connector in the middle. Several reviews will note that the instructions state that your screws on the connector must go through the holes in the rail for there to be power. What it fails to tell you is that there are no holes on the sides that are exposed when you received the product. You have to, using a small allen wrench which they do not provide, remove the end caps on each end of the track. When you do so you will expose the holes they are referring to. You will know you're looking in the right place when you see the copper line running underneath the hole. Those are the answers you need to use to connect in the middle using the connector. Additionally when connecting the middle I would highly recommend you do this on the ground and not up in the air as it's really hard to snap the track into alignment while you were trying to put the cover on and align the screws to the holes. Also keep in mind do not over tighten the 4 little screws they give you otherwise your connector will not close. Once the connector is together you can lift the track up into the ceiling and attach it to your brackets. Once this is done attaching the lights is actually relatively easy. I will comment several people have noted that the lights are incredibly hot. Yes they are because they're halogen. Switch these out for Led ASAP unless you like a hot kitchen or wherever you're putting this.

Caution do not buy
I consider myself a qualified installer with years of experience and have never seen a product so badly designed and built. The pins that are designed to fit in the monorail track do not line up groves cut in the track and after bending and forcing them in place I was finally able to power up half of the track. Then after hanging the lights with the same alignment problem I find they are only half working and those that did light had flicker. Then comes the rail connector that connects the two rail sections--same alignment problem and the directions say to tighten the connector screws--CAUTION plastic will strip out with very little pressure applied. Looks great only half has power and those flicker, only use I see for the Light system is as a boat anchor but it is light and cheap do much good. Wasted my money!!

Looks great, works as advertized, but super-cheap plastic
As with many products, there are those things you love, and those things you don't. So, here we go. The Good: it's reasonably stylish. From the vantage point of sitting in the room, it appears to be like a nicely designed metal track with frosted nickel metals and frosted glass shades. Installation was reasonably straightforward for anyone that's hung a few lights in their time. It took me an hour total and I'm an "average" homeowner, certainly not an expert, and I have to research everything beforehand to make sure it's within my skill level to install. This was. Uses standard GU10 (two T-pin twist-in connector) bulbs. It came with 6 standard Halogen bulbs pre-installed but I'll be replacing them with Soraa High-CRI GU10 LED's (my personal favorite are the 4000K "Vivid" models) as soon as they come in in a few days. Some features I like: the lights and all connectors can be installed ANYWHERE on the track. This means you do NOT have to center the two track pieces on the ceiling box. You can have the electrical supply lines at one end, almost in the middle, or anywhere in between EXCEPT for the exact mid point--there are two 42" tracks and there is a splicing connector that holds them together, but you can mount that seam as little as 3 inches from the power supply box. So it's a great model for those who have a ceiling electrical box a foot from a wall instead of centered on the room. The 30-degree vaulted ceiling I had it on was no problem at all. The Bad: Flimsy flimsy flimsy. Have I mentioned flimsy? This is NOT METAL! The track is the only substantive metal component--at least I think it's metal, it may actually be plastic. All the lighting housings and all mounting hardware is super-duper-cheap-feeling plastic. It LOOKS really good, but weighs nothing. I'd imagine cracks, splits and connectors just falling apart would be common risks while installing this and there may be possible future issues affecting life span. The only "real" piece in each lamp is the frosted glass. Everything else is junk plastic. The rings that attach over each bulb to hold it in BARELY hang on with their own quarter-ounce weight; they twist into tiny little channels in the glass, but will fall off with the slightest provocation, such as a human entering the room while sneezing. You think I'm joking? Sadly I'm not. I sneezed and one fell off. Unfortunately, gluing in place is not an option, as you need to remove them to replace a bulb and that spot gets really hot with Halogen bulbs anyway (not so much with LED's). So you just kind of hang them on there and hope for the best. Right now, all six are holding. Despite the cheap plastic, the "flex" track is pretty stiff. You'd think a simple bend and it would hold its shape. Nope. This requires some pretty solid bending and holding in place to keep its shape otherwise it wants to return to straight. This is great for subtle bends, but I wouldn't try to bend it into a circle as that's a LOT of pressure on the cheapie plastic clamps holding it to the ceiling. Overall, cheapness and plastic aside, once hung it does look really nice, and appears to be much more expensive than it is. It remains to be seen how this will hold up over years of use, but on day one it looks like a pretty decent track system.

Great light kit!
The box was not in the best condition when it arrived, but contents were packed well and nothing was damaged. The flexible track was easy to shape into whatever configuration you want, I chose a simple 'S' shape. Installation in my kitchen was simple and quick, the hardest part was drilling the holes into the concrete ceiling. From start to finish, took about half an hour to install. The end result is a really cool looking track system that cost 40% less than the one I saw at a local big box home improvement store. I love it! The nickel finish gives it a clean and modern appearance. I get great comments from everyone who visits, some want one for themselves. You can direct the 6 lights anywhere you need over a large area covered by the 8 feet of track. The only negative is that one of the bulbs burned out 2 days after installlation. Finding a replacement to match is somewhat of a challenge, both from a cost perspective as well as the aesthetics. Not all MR16/GU10 120V/50W halogens are the same. The brand I bought gave off a different glow and looked odd next to the other 5 lights. So, I ended up removing that light and will put it back up when I find the right replacement bulb. All in all, I'd buy another kit if the need arose.

DO NOT bend the track. Cheap plastic.
If you plan on getting this fixture because it's bendable, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get it! All of the track mounts, brackets, connectors, e.t.c are plastic. As a result, bending the track will make all of the power connections bend away and not have a reliable connection. As you can see from the pictures, we were finally able to get it to work on one fixture (6" bend for every 20" in track length), but we had to buy additional parts to replace the factory provided ones, and the second fixture just would not work at all. Also, there were a couple broken pieces straight out of the box forcing us to buy another fixture to advance for replacement parts. The only reason we're giving this a 2 star rating is because we love the style of the light, and if you're planning on just keeping it in a straight line or with only a 2" or less bend in the track, then this would be a great light for the money.

A Bit Finicky
A little bit finicky to install, especially if you are putting some bend on it. Don't get frustrated, it will eventually go together. It was a little more frustrating being up on a 12ft ladder and having to move up and down the track, but it ended up ok. I first installed the brackets into the ceiling. I then installed one track into the center bracket and then next into the two side brackets. For the center bracket, the track is simply inserted into the slot and then the outside screws are tightened down to clamp it. There is no reason to remove the 4 screws and the remove the back plate for install. I am not sure the instructions are clear on this, or I simply did not read them. Next install the second track into the center bracket, tighten screws and secure in the side brackets. Functionally the light works great and offers an endless amount of options for light placement, up and down the track as well as pointed in numerous directions. The bulb cases are a bit cheap, but they went together securely. One light gave me some connection problems, so I had to bend the metal tab out some, but it eventually worked and I don't plan to touch it again. The bulbs that come with the kit are bright, but get very hot and I am sure use lots of electricity. I switched over to LED bulbs to reduce the heat and reduce electricity draw. Not only to save money, but to ensure the circuit could easily handle the two strips and a few other light fixtures I am adding.

Cheaply made, hard to install, dim lighting.
Very disappointed. Cheaply made. Poor lighting. I replaced a standard fluorescent fixture in my kitchen because itโs a large kitchen and I needed to be able to direct the light to specific work areas that were shadowed. The fixture was tedious to install because the electrical connections are hit n miss. One fixture was received broken and a replacement fixture is 2-3 months out. After messing with each lamp multiple times and going up and down the ladder dozens of times to get it all working the lighting is so dim itโs like having one 40 watt bulb for the entire room. Itโs only worth 1/3 of what I paid. It is made of cheap plastic parts and has poorly designed construction. Itโs too bad because I had high hopes.

Looks like expensive low volt dc but is not.
Looks just like the ones in light stores that cost 500 or more. It mimics the look of a 12 volt dc monorail system but the rail is actually 120/110 house voltage. The rail is plastic but looks like brushed metal and the hot lead is embedded inside the one to two thin grooves. I would warn to make sure you hook the switch correctly as a common mistake by homeowners would be to switch the neutral wire. Make sure you correctly switch the "black" hot wire for the fixture especially. The reason is if you was to wipe the rail with a damp rag or sponge during cleaning you for sure don't want to do this with is in the on position for risk getting shocked or wire backwards in the off position which leaves the rail still hot with voltage so double check your switch is truly breaking the hot lead and not the neutral return white wire. The dimmer is any normal standard 120 volt dimmer but if using LED replacement bulbs make sure the dimmer on the box shows it can dim dimmable LEDs. The bulbs are GU10 and you can use LED GU10 replacements. I would recommend looking for them here on Amazon as they are expensive in Home Depot or Lowes. Look for 2700k warm if you like the real look of an incandescent bulb. Make sure they are dimmable as all LEDs are not. The is a beauty ring on the outside of the tip of the glass cover for each light. It looks as if you would connect the bulb and put the beauty ring on after but you actually do that first. This is important if using LED replacements because they are a fraction of an inch longer than the halogen GU10s but still stay recessed in the globe. The power source can be located anywhere on the rail except dead center. Other than the dead center connector that connects the two 42" rails, all other ceiling connectors and lights can be slid to any position.

A bit of a challenge to install and somewhat fragile, but looks great
The track is very very stiff and needs a lot of force to bend into shape. I mean a LOT. Some people may not have the strength to give it the shape they really want, and the track is delivered in two pieces you must assemble on the ceiling, so you have to plan the shape carefully. The track itself is extremely sturdy, but the clips that hold the track to the ceiling, the clip that connects the two pieces of track, and the clips that hold the lamps themselves look and feel upclose like really cheap plastic. You also have to be very careful exactly where along the track you install the holding clips, otherwise the track will droop in some areas, so I had to move a few of mine so the track stayed straight. All in all, this is one of the hardest lighting fixture to install, but at the end, the results are really great.

Do not buy this. Blow your money buying scratch tickets instead.
This is so terrible that you should read my review, then pay me if I manage to convince you out of buying it. If you think ikea is cheap... By comparison... Ikea lighting is a Ferrari, Rolls Royce or private jet compared to this piece of garbage. It's terrible to install, of terrible quality such that the caps on the light heads don't even screw in properly... And the pins that provide power to the track broke off when installing. Buy literally any track lights except globe.

Electrical connections in light fixtures do not line up with the track!
It took longer to attach the lights to the track than to to install the track & wiring.Very cheaply made. I hade to adjust all the electrical connections on the light fixtures because they were not lined up properly to the track from factory, so when I would install each fixture, it would not work until I experimented with the required adjustments. Very time consuming!
