Are the rollers smooth? Would soft metal, like brass, be marked by rollers?

Hi, thanks for your inquiry. The roller surface is knurled as the picture showing. Probably there will be pressing mark in soft metal.

Can you set it for a specific diameter and just roll it or is it just trial and error

The diameter of the bend you make is going to depend on the length of your stock. There is no diameter setting. Make your bends in quarter turn increments, roll and repeat. This machine is mainly for rings. If you’re trying to make decorative bends that can be achieved but not exactly what it’s for. Hope that helps.

Can it roll 1 inch copper tubing

I don't believe so, there is not a groove to ride in for 1" material, may flatten it
