KRAUS WasteGuard 3/4 HP Ultra-Quiet Garbage Disposal with Quick Connect, Kitchen Sink Drain Cover, Power Cord and Flange Included, KWD100-75MBL

We've been in our new-to-us house for 3 years. The existing disposal developed an internal leak. Rather than fix it, it was time to replace it. Did my research and found this. I could not he happier. It looks great, was easy to install, great value for the money, and works well. My old one would clog the output line when grinding up potato peels. So of course, grinding potato peels was one of the first things I tried. No problem doing that whatsoever. And, it's quiet. My old one sounded like a Boeing 707 on takeoff. Not this. It is the quietest disposal I've ever had or heard. My only issue, which really isn't an issue, is that things do not easily make it past the included rubber splashback thingy. It comes with a stopper, which doubles as a "push stuff past the rubber splashback thingy" device. But what I often do, is just take the rubber thingy out, allowing the food to fall freely into the grind area, put the rubber thingy back in, and then grind. Even with that, I would definitely buy this again.

I'm a kitchen & bath contractor so I've installed my share of disposals; I chose this Kraus for my own kitchen because I've been impressed with the quality and value of their sinks and plumbing fixtures I've installed for clients. Badger brand works fine but this Kraus is SO quiet, not much louder than an upscale dishwasher. Installation is straightforward and its given me no problems in the 6 weeks since I installed it. I haven't yet ground up anything that would test the 3/4 hp but I have confidence this German engineering will handle it. As with any disposal, if you want a countertop pushbutton on/off switch you'll need to buy that separately. Look into the Bluetooth versions with a wireless on/off unit above the counter that sticks to a magnet you mount anywhere. The BT host unit plugs into the outlet under your sink and the disposal plugs into that host unit so installation takes like 20 seconds. Mine works great and I didn't have to give up the sink hole that has my soap dispenser.

This is a quiet and strong machine. Easy to install with direct plug in. If I can get some Longevity from this disposal, it will be well worth the money!

This has been a good upgrade from the loud and poor performing ge disposal that came with our condo. It was tough to fit the unit into the retaining ring when installing, but once I got it in it has been fine. This was a used item from Amazon warehouse, but came packaged like new. It is quiet and works great. Can't be beat fir the price.

My old 1/2 HP disposal finally died with a clatter, giving me the perfect excuse to upgrade to something with more power and a lot less noise for our open-concept kitchen. The installation was surprisingly painless. The "Quick Connect" mount is essentially a standard 3-bolt flange system, which meant it was a direct swap with my old unit. This saved me the messy job of removing the sink flange and re-applying plumber's putty, turning a potential 2-hour project into a 30-minute one. Once installed, the first test was the sound. The difference is night and day. My old unit had a high-pitched, mechanical roar that vibrated the entire sink. This 3/4 HP motor, even at full speed, produces only a low-frequency hum. I then fed it some tough material—celery stalks and lemon rinds—and the motor didn't bog down or change its tone in the slightest. It just powered through everything, grinding it down to a fine slurry in seconds. The most impressive feat here is the acoustic insulation and motor balancing. To get this much grinding torque from a motor that produces such a low, consistent hum without transferring any significant vibration to the stainless steel sink is remarkable. It completely eliminates that startling, high-pitched grinding noise that makes you jump.

unit is good however only comes with stainless flange and no other option available (not compatible with other brand flange) so was not able to match it to my Kraus gun metal color sink

I returned a very noisy Waste King L8000 garbarator and replaced it with this very quiet Kraus unit. I couldn't be happier and would highly recommend this item. The product was nicely packaged and unit was easily installed. If you're looking for quality, power and quiet,buy this one!!!

I want three different carburetors over the years and this is the quietest, The only negative is that the rubber surrounding the drain is a little bit tight and food must be forced through using the drain plug provided. I believe this will change with time as the rubber wears in. I would buy again

New Kitchen, new sink and new garbage disposal. Sink is also Kraus so I figured I a Kraus disposal would be a good fit. I am impressed with the low noise level compared to my old Sears extra loud one. I'm not crazy about the rubber splash guard. Seems to block most debris. I have to push through almost everything otherwise the guard will block it.

Leaking from dishwasher inlet! Not even used more than a month, started leaking. Good thing is warranty shipped out a new one, but guess what? Does not cover repair costs. So you're pretty much screwed with buying this. Better buying a better brand than this one, and not have to worry about it, since you're 150 dollar short just reinstalling this by a handyman.
