Great video quality and price. No subscription like many other brands. Customisable and expandable depending on your needs. Depending on your location takes some trial, error, zones, ai, to get a good balance of sensitivity as if you have a lot of passing traffic, can take too many videos and drain battery and storage.

Relatively easy to set up. Only got a little confused when it asks you to connect to Home Hub, which I didn’t have. NOTE Home Hub also refers to your Chime door bell, took me a while to figure that one out as to the reason I wasn’t getting video. (Five stars to customer service for their help too btw, although I figured it out myself in the end they were very pleasant and professional). Love that it also has a Face Capture. When someone is walking past and too quick or hooded to see, the Capture feature gives a clear snapshot of their face. Highly recommend.

Overall, I really like this video doorbell. The video is quite clear, it was easy enough to set up and connectivity is fine. It is also small and just went next to our front door on the frame. I like especially that videos are just saved locally, no need for any subscription. I do think the battery life could be better. It consistently needs charging, which can take half a day. It is my only complaint though, and I think the lack of subscription makes up for it. I would recommend this video doorbell.

What a nightmare product. I owned this for 2 days and I am returning it because no one needs to put up with the nonsense it put me through. Initial set up was not fun. Instructions provided do not give you step-by-step what needs to happen and in what order. The quick start guide is not quick, it is a booklet about half an inch thick and in multiple languages, but the english part was around 20 pages long. And the section on how to install the doorbell and chime is literally a single that says “download app and follow instructions in app”. What? So I tried to install the doorbell first I mean it makes the most logical sense, right? As I attempted it, the Eufy app suddenly alerted me “please have a Homehub or a door chime confirmed first”. I had to install the chime first??! Then I installed the chime, that was the easy part. Next I attempted the doorbell again and it finally got past the original alert and started to connect, but after 5 minutes it threw this at me: “failed to connect. Make sure the Homebase is on”. Pardon??! I was worried that I needed to buy a Homebase for around £150 to get this blasted doorbell to work! Why have a message that said “make sure Homebase was on”? The item description never mentioned this so I assumed it was a standalone. Many attempts later and after much Googling, I decided to reset and start again, so I setup the chime first and then got to the doorbell. At this point the chime did something it didn’t do before, and that was let out this high frequency squeal - the same that scares away rodents and cats - and the doorbell actually responded with a crackle. Later it connected the doorbell successfully. Hurrah I shouted in elation! No need for a Homebase! I installed the doorbell to my front door and checked that the video feed was working, and that the chime chimed when the button was pressed, and I even got it linked to my Amazon Echo Dot to whimper at me when someone was at the door. After that was done, I went to bed. The following day more headaches ensued. I checked the video feed again and it was taking a rather long time to connect, and before long an alert came up that said “P2P connection failed”. I beg your pardon??! P2P? No matter what I did, I could not get the stupid thing to show me video of the outside. It turns out you connect the chime to your wifi, and the chime in turn connects to the doorbell to deliver your video feed to you. The chime acts as a mini Homebase with limited AI functionality and has the memory card to store the videos, hence why I received that P2P error message. The stupid thing had to connect to the doorbell before it would stream it to us, like a dodgy celebrity endorsed TV commercial telling us to free the equity in our homes. After much more Googling, I moved the chime to different areas of the home, moved it closer to the front door, updated my router to only use 20MHz bandwidth for my 2.4GHz wifi, nothing worked! But one thing did work though… and that was for me to take the blasted doorbell into my home. While it was outside, for reasons only the Eufy engineers can fathom, it would not allow any type of P2P connectivity between the chime and doorbell. But once taken into the home where it is warm and cosy, suddenly the doorbell sprung to life and allowed video streaming to take place. You’re probably thinking “ah, it must be interference due to the number of walls and the door”, but I assure you that the wifi signal is strong even outside. In the Eufy app you can check the chimes’ WiFi strength connected to the router and the doorbell, and both for me were at maximum levels. I even had the video running active in the app, took the doorbell outside and installed it then closed the door and the video was still running fine for 5 minutes. But the moment I stopped the video stream and tried to start up a new stream… “P2P connectivity error” From that I knew it was not a signal issue but a Eufy issue. I had all latest updates but I could not get the blasted thing to work, so I submitted an Amazon return. Say what you want about Google’s Nest doorbell and Ring’s doorbell, at least they are reliable. Avoid this at all costs! Eufy makes some good security cameras but they are terrible at combining it with a doorbell.

After receiving an email from Ring Doorbell to tell me my basic single subscription was going up to a whopping £50 a year (from £34) I found myself in the market place for a replacement that wasnt going to need an expensive subscription or even better...a subscription free model. So after a bit of research I purchased this Eufy doorbell instead. No subscription needed whatsoever to use it, as it writes the video content to a local SD card built into the base unit. A 16gb card is included which is enough for around 3 months recordings, but you can buy a bigger card cheaply if you require more. You can add a cheap subscription to it, to store your videos in the cloud if you prefer, but it isnt a requirement unlike the ring doorbell. Pros: No subscription required - main reason for getting this. Local storage Picture quality is great, and probably a little better than the ring gen2 box it replaced. Night vision is better than the ring too, as it has further reach. Easy enough to setup but make sure you register the base station/chime FIRST, otherwise the app gets stuck in a loop. (It took me a while to figure this out after trying to register the doorbell in the app first) and going round in circles!! Nice quality and as a premium device, you would expect this. Better longer lasting battery than Ring. Cons: mobile phone App is not a slick as the ring app.. but its not far off tbh. It does all the same things as ring does but not quite as intuative. A bit slower compared to ring to show notifications on your phone. This is a bit annoying and hopefully this will get better with newer apps and firmware etc. It takes a couple more seconds than ring to notify you of movement etc. The ring volume on the base station isnt as loud as the ring chime.. but at least it came free in the box compared to me shelling out another £30 to get the ring chime as an add on when i got that! Early days yet, but as a Ring alternative you cannot really go wrong and with it being subsciption free, it will have paid for itself within a couple of years.

Based on my experience, you'll need to have a little bit of patience with this. Out of the box, in my living room, it worked straight away. I was charging the doorbell camera and getting notifications every time I walked past it, so I screwed the unit to the wall and sure enough it went off when the neighbours came out of their front door and walked past. The problems started when they came home. Walking up our path is very hit and miss. Anyway, to cut a long story short so as not to bore anyone, I got in touch with the makers and it turns out that (in common with a lot of these security devices it seems) anyone walking directly towards the camera might not be detected. Unfortunately our path is pretty much perfectly aligned so that it may or may not record. Don't screw it to the wall until you've found the best position, and try it with and without the angle mount. The bell works, the motion detector works if I change it to pick up all motion and not just humans, but of course then it goes off every time a car goes by and it still might not pick up people walking up our path. You can probably set an activity zone to cover your own circumstances, and I'm just unlucky. It's a really good picture, and it's a really good doorbell (which records when it's pressed). I don't think many people will be as unlucky as me, and I have another Eufy camera (a solar powered one) which is absolutely brilliant and picks up everything as it should. So it's definitely our front path that's at fault. In other news, the chime records the video onto its memory card so no subscription is involved. We have an Eero 6 Pro router which broadcasts on both 2.4 and 5GHz bands, and it picked up the two units immediately even though they only operate on 2.4GHz. It's a good bell, it's our front garden that's to blame.

I have been on the lookout for a good quality video doorbell for a while now. My next door neighbour has a Ring doorbell and I must say it is excellent. The video quality is very good and the ability to review events is easy and clear. What put me off from buying that product was the subscription model. I am fed up wit products that require ongoing payments when there should be excellent options to just buy the product and use it without further payments. My research brought me to the Eufy range of products and I must say; so far the product has been exactly what I was looking for. Firstly, the doorbell itself is nice looking and feels substantial. The mounting brackets (there is a flat bracket and an angle bracket that you can place onto the first bracket to allow mounting in a wider range of places) are adequate and fixings are included with the bell too. There is also a template sticker to allow easy marking of hole location, so for those people that are happy to install themselves; it is straightforward. I would say that the process of set-up was relatively straightforward, but strongly recommend reading instructions as there is scope for problems if not fully prepared. I found that the bell chime (which contains the included sd card for local storage) was easy to set up, but did require a re-format of the sd card after the first hour, although it has been good ever since (approximately a week). The doorbell itself was nice and easy to set-up too. Both items require the installation of the Eufy Security app but I did not find any real issues. The app is available on both Android and iPhone. The doorbell did come with an amount of charge, this enables set-up straight away, but does require charging to full capacity. The Eufy app shows battery level (mine is still at 99% after a week), as well as allowing access to saved events, live feed and settings etc. You can set the detection zone, which is surprisingly good and the image quality has been excellent so far. Reviewing events is easy, quick and clear when at home on the same network (although I do have very good home broadband), but does take a while when out and about on 5G. It's not problematic but there is a difference. The speed of notification when at home or away has been really good so far and the ability to talk to whoever is at the door works fine, with minimal lag. Video quality, as I have already mentioned; is excellent. Both the day and night recording is clear and easy to view. The night video is black and white, although the field of view from my bell is well illuminated, so I have it on day setting all the time and so it is in colour and very clear 24hrs a day. The is a web-portal and the app can generate a time-sensitive code to allow access to the device. I found that the view of live feed was great, but it appears that to access my stored events was not possible without a subscription to a cloud based storage (which defeats the object of the locally stored videos in my opinion). It isn't a deal breaker to me, but may be to some people. Overall, I am happy so far. The app notifies me instantly (with a little lag obviously) when there is either a detection or someone actually rings the bell. I can review any event later via the app and can save/download the videos. Having seen the quality of the Ring doorbell; I would say the video and sound recording is as high quality on the Eufy, but without the ongoing subscription costs. The included sd card is apparently good for several months of recordings before it starts to overwrite (we shall see). Based on my experience with it so far; I would recommend it.

Camera was working fine for months. However at the moment it keeps disconnecting for some reason. It'll be connected for a day and then loses connection. I've moved the receiver to the socket closest to the door to minimise interference but it's still losing connection. Apart from this, it's a good doorbell cam but with it losing signal everyday I'm now looking for another brand to replace it.

Super sonnette mais il y a un problème avec la sonnerie du téléphone. Quand le Bluetooth est activé, les alertes sonnettes sont désactivés, y a plus d'alerte si on sonne. De plus ca ne sonne qu'une fois, y a pas de répétitions. Quand sa sonne, il faut déverrouiller le téléphone, aller sur l'application, pour répondre... on perd du temps. Quand tous les mouvements sont activés au max, la batterie dure 2 semaines (selon la fréquentation). Sinon pour le reste, image, détection, enregistrement, application, tout est parfait.

If you're like me and have a long driveway with a gate, and plan to use this, then avoid it. The indoor chime uses WiFi to get a connection, but the outdoor doorbell uses a propiatary connection to the chime, not WiFi, so the distance from chime to doorbell really matters. I found it way to bad a connection at 40-50m. It's just not clear in the description, wireless and wifi are mentioned a lot, and yes the camera is wireless (and appeared good quality) but it's not wifi on the camera. Unfortunate as i really wanted this to work. I imagine in a house where the distance from chime to camera isn't bit that it would be perfect, but it's not for me and it's returned and my search goes on.
