Lasted less than one year. Ran very hot, too hot to the touch. Running 120v. Same as other reviews.

the wire broke and i need to buy new one

I purchased the heated wire for my freezer door for our restaurant, hoping to prevent ice buildup during the winter months. Unfortunately, this product turned out to be a complete disaster. Within just a few months of installation, I noticed a strange smell coming from the area, and before I could react, the wire actually caught fire! I can't stress enough how dangerous this product is. Not only did it create a fire hazard in my Restaurant , but it also put my employees at risk. I had to quickly disconnect it and call for help to ensure everything was safe again. The manufacturer's instructions were unclear, and I felt that there was no adequate warning about the potential risks involved with using this heated wire.

Installed this heat strip and a new gasket. Checked voltage and it is 110v as specified. Strip runs way to hot and burned the $120 gasket to the freezer door. I used an IR thermometer and it was putting out 151 degrees to the metal frame at the point where the damage took place. This is a fire hazard and a defective product. DO NOT BUY!!

Very disappointed with this door frame heater. The quality is not good at all. It gets extremely hot—much hotter than it should—and it actually started burning/damaging the unit. I had to disconnect it because I did not feel safe leaving it installed. I would not recommend this product for a walk-in freezer door frame. I expected a heavy-duty, properly rated heater, but this one did not work safely for my application
