I ran into a small problem with my landline mains plug. The landline mains plug is opposite direction of the pins that mains plug have and there is a small nub where the cord comes out. Thanks!** A: There are spots on both sides which allow for the cables to come out smoothly, while plugged in. You can even them use the lid of this as a little stand and place your phone etc on there while it is charging. **Q: Is this unit BS approved? Are surge and overload protection the same thing or dofferent?** A: I am not sure if it is BS approved. However having used it for a while I have found several issues that were not apparent at first. Only certain plugs will fit in it either because they are too wide to fit next to each other or are too tall for the lid to fit on. Even if you do fit plugs at the right size it is impossible to get all the wires to run smoothly through the small opening. Also if you want to use the USB points they are placed in a very difficult way at the bottom difficult to use with no where to place the charging items. The other drawback is that it is a short cable and therefore needs to be very near to the item you are plugging in. I don't think it has surge protection which is the last of my worries with this item because I had to but other extensions as this was hopeless for my needs, **Q: Are these available in black** A: Yes **Q: What’s the difference between surge protection and overload reset button? Is one safer than the other** A: The surge protection is to protect the unit if there is a spike in the supply.
