That missing pin is "no connection" according to spec, but is important to have normally so that you don't accidentally connect in wrong direction to send ground to 5V+ and destroy both your PC and devices. Don't do that! Should be black wires to black wires (ground to ground) on the male and female header connection. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Bent pins and heavy corrosion *by B***D on Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2022* Item arrived with the USB2.0 end well wrapped in cardboard and tape. But the pins inside were still bent all over the place. As the wrapping wasn't damaged in the same places, I have to assume it was packaged while already looking like this. That was easy enough to bend back into place. However, the pins also had VERY noticeable corrosion all over them. Picture is after bending the pins back, but shows this. There is no easy way to clean that off properly without damaging it. I was able to scrape it a little and it took a few tries to get a connection.
