I enjoyed reading the book. Andrew Beevor has intervoven personal insights with the military history of the D Day operations. Makes it easier to read. On the 70th anniversary of the landings in France it is a lovely tribute to the men and women who won freedom for Europe. Must read.

Antony Beevor is a great author. Very interesting good. I learned things I didn't know about D-Day and all this mishaps from both sides. Great detailed writing! All in all a great read for some one who wants to know about all that went on in Normandy!

Durch das Kartenmaterial und den stringenten Bezug liest sich dieses Buch flüssig. Manchmal kommt man ohne das beiligende Kartenmaterial einfach nicht weiter, kann sich aber sehr gut in die damaligen Ereignisse hineinfühlen und durch diese Berichte wird auch 'Band of Brothers' in ein anderes Licht geführt. Empfehl ich voll und ganz.
