What can you do if the cork is too long for the system?

We haven’t had this issue before as most corks (on 750mL and 1.5’s) are a standard length.

I poured one glass and when I went to pour the second glass the unit would not work. Once the gas tube is installed it should remain installed?

I removed the argon cartridge and all the gas came out and emptied. They say it is good for about 15 glasses before replacing

Does Coravin offer a system that is compatible with both standard and sparkling wines? I do not want to buy two separate systems if I can avoid it.
