Expedition 4 - Scale 1:25k 1:40k 1:50k mm & inches - Navigation Compass for Advanced Users and Rescue Professionals - Rotatable Compass housing - Compass Hiking

Great compass. Second one I’ve bought from here as a spare. Recommend highly. Cheapest on the net for this reputable manufacturer/

Needle is very responsive and settles quickly. Very nice compass.

Excellent lensatic compass with tick marks for topographic map use to measure in meters and also G-M angle. Rugged and light. Highly recommend!

Just as expected fir map navigation.

Very well made; reliable, light weight and easy to use and to see. Worth the investment over cheap " maybes.

Great, easy to use.

A good compass at a good price

I purchased this product because the price point was almost 50% lower then the competitors than found on this platform. When the product arrived. 1.) the compass was shipped in an oversized box. This type of baseplate compass should be handled with care. I noticed several red flags when assessing the accuracy of the compass. I compared the north declamation of the needle against other compasses. Maxwells correction to Ampere's Law together with Faraday's law (magnetic field) did not mutually change the other compasses bearing at 0 degrees/while staged in the same area. 2.) Accounting for local magnetic declination the purchased item was off by over 30 degrees west. 4.) The needle would not level when staged on a flat surface. South direction end of needle would drag and bounce inside the capsule (possible some sort of revers polarity). This compass could of easily directed me in the wrong direction if I did not check it for accuracy.

Does what it says on the box. Perfect

Excellent modèle de C.O. !

North south reversed. So North red part of the needle actually points south. Also the north south line is off by about 5 degrees. Assume it must have gone through some wierd and wonderful magnetic machine when being posted and that this is not how it left the factory. Have had good experience in the past with Silva gear so hope this is just an isolated incident. Update. Had to purchase a return label to send back a defective item. Now after more than half a year and several non successful messages with support. I have never been refunded. So I’m out the purchase price plus the return costs which was 12 or 13 euro.
