Why is the magnifying light not coming on?

The bottom button activates the light so the other buttons work. If this doesn't work. Check your outlet.

28 inches plus 7 more of the light itself. I bought this one since most of the others were shorter.

What does "3x-5x magnification" mean - the 3x magnification is the 4.1 inch optical glass and imbedded in the glass is a small 5x "window"?

3x-5x is most likely the glass itself as it is thicker in the middle little side note the switch went out about 4 months after I bought it
