4 pcs 1/4" x 1/4" C360 Brass Square BAR 12" Long Solid 0.23" Flat Mill Stock

These bars had nicely eased edges, perfect symmetry (no bulges anywhere along the length). It made routing channels to inlay the brass into church prayer altars possible to produce perfect inset of the brass pieces cut to length. Whatever they were coated with was compatible with spray lacquer that I applied to control tarnish. So, I assume they were factory coated with lacquer. Having said that, they were not factory polished to the same degree as, say, granite finishers wet grind/polish granite slabs used for kitchen counters: meaning fine-ground to flatten the surfaces to a mirror finish. These bars had minute (mi-nute meaning very tiny) ridges across the width, but too small to see at 3 ft viewing distance and with 2 more coats of lacquer. So, perfect for my use.

These are not 1/4 in.². According to both my calipers and my ruler, they are .237. Might not seem like much, but it is if you wanted .25

The brass bars are a full 1/8 inch short. The description says they are 12 inches (305mm) when in fact they are 11 and 7/8 inches long (301mm). The brass bars are also not exactly 1/4"x1/4", they are in fact 0.23", exactly 6mm (measured with calipers), so 0.02" shy of 1/4". The title does have the 0.23" measurement, just confusing when they have both. The description gives both imperial and metric units, only the metric units are accurate in these dimensions. However the length is NOT as advertised in imperial or metric.

Its brass square rod of a certain size. No complaints.
