My smoker was blowing the GCFI and shutting off. I had checked the control panels on the back and bottom for grease build up, which could cause problems, but mine were actually clean. Relacing the heat element was easy and fixed the problem. More time was spent cleaning the inside of the smoker out, make sure you periodically clean the black sot off the sensors located on the inside back wall of the smoker. Review: Perfect fit & fixed GFCI outlet tripping - Fits perfectly in my Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker. It was harder to get the old one out than put the new one in due to some of the build up on the inside back of the unit. It fixed the issue that I had where the old one kept tripping the GFCI outlet. I've used it for 2 smoke sessions so far: a 2 hour session for some wings and a 16 hour session for a brisket. It held a steady temp for both sessions. It seems to be as good as the OEM heating element that came installed on the smoker.
