Condition 1 18" Medium Waterproof Hard Case With Foam, Model 801, Black

This is a sold case. Pros: sold. Like, I think I could drag it behind my truck sold. Also, perfect size for cameras, sensitive electronics, or a (small - medium sized) firearm. Cons: the pluckable foam should one, be in 1x1 inch segments, or, at least have one of the two pieces in the case be like that. It would also be nice if the lock holes were larger and had metal reinforcement. Overall, this case will work nicely for my purpose and provide secure enough (meaning it would keep a child out) storage for my item with the lock I was able to use.

I use this case for storing and transporting my Garmin chartplotter/fishfinder and other electronic equipment for my pontoon boat.. The small removable squares of foam made it ideal to carve out the shapes necessary to place all the components of the depth finder and other electronics in a safe, cushioned, water-proof environment. It features a top and bottom piece of foam with two layers of "removeable squares" foam between them. The two inner "square foams" provide a great format for items of different sizes and depth. Because of its size, I was able to place the fishfinder with an 8" screen, its attachment paraphernalia, the removeable faceplate to my stereo system and the remote for my trolling motor into the case with adequate cushion space to protect all of them well. I also like the latching system. Push on the center of the latch and it easily pops open, but the buttons are place such that they will never pop open by themselves or without some effort. This is a nice, sturdy, well made case. It works really well for my use.

I've had this for a couple months and I'm very happy with it. I use it to store my car diagnostic setup. The foam inside was easy to shape. One trick I used was glueing the foam to the edges of the inside to make it stay in place when the tools are taken out. This thing is very sturdy, in a pinch I actually used it as a stepping stool for painting correcting around my house, with the expensive stuff inside and it survived. I will definitely buy this brand in the future, especially since it's made in the States. I liked their commercial too.

Five stars for the case, but two stars for the foam inserts as any money I saved on the case was made up for plus some by immediately having to replace the foam. I wish listings would explain the foam configuration better as it's all over the map and kind of important. While complicated shapes may this setup for layered supports, for my use it just means it's always falling inward and coming out with the equipment. The pluck foam is multiple layers of thinner foam not the full depth of even most of the depth plus a liner. A very thin outer band hugs the outer diameter. If the foam was thicker this would give it a nice flush fitted look, but instead it means the foam lifts out every single time I remove anything from the case often requiring me to shake equipment to rid it of the foam when my hands are full. It also means you need to go extra big when shopping by dimensions. If you get anywhere near the edge which I had to in a couple of spots, the thin rim will tear easily and if you're super careful not to tear it you'll still have a flimsy edge that collapses offering little support and constantly coming out with the equipment. Making it extra tricky was the chunks of foam were super attached eventually requiring careful and slow razor application to configure it without mishaps and it's massive compared to the equipment I'm storing in it already. The case itself seems sturdy work a decent clasp. Not sure about water resistant, not found research to find out if given a choice.

I bought this to protect my radios during travel for outdoor adventures. The foam is identical to what you would get in other brands, measured in 1 cm (centimeter) blocks, and the exterior is hard plastic that (so far) has upheld during my movements to events. Save the money from other brands and just get this, you won’t be disappointed.

The Condition 1 case is an excellent alternative to the name brand Pelican cases. I purchased mine specifically for safe transport of expensive electronics including delicate microphones, cameras, & other audio/visual equipment. Being a recording professional based out of the Pacific Northwest, it is very important to have weather-proofed carrying equipment for my climate-sensitive devices. This Condition 1 case has excellent quality customizable cubed foam that is dense & spongy. Since my production setup will be different on every project, I decided to tear out three large rectangles & separate those pieces into dividers that can be reshaped to suit each loadout. This way, I have a modular space that can be reshaped each time as necessary (see photo). I expect it to last many years & provide solid protection to whatever I am transporting. If you can't throw down on a Pelican, this is the next best bet! I will be purchasing more in the future.

I've been buying Condition 1 cases for years, and have never been disappointed. They're rugged, reasonably priced (if not cheap), and very protective. They're made in the U.S. as well, which is important for some of us UnitedStateseans (and not the case for many of their competitors). Some folks seem to have issues with the pluckable foam, but it's always worked well for me -- I'd recommend, though, that you put some thought into what you'll pluck & where before you do anything with it. It's pretty easy to avoid damage to the non-pluckable rim of foam around the edges, again, if you take your time and think ahead. If you want replacement foam (for multiple configurations of one case, or if you *really* got carried away with your plucking), you can get it from the manufacturer -- but sadly, Amazon does not sell it.

AMAZING, cant say enough good things about this case. Not only were they far roomier than expected but at the price they are amazingly strong. I have used a few different companies cases but was impressed with the build on these.

Solid, well made. Held a power drill, 2 batteries, charger, bits, socket wrench and sockets.

Very nice case, similar to Pelican but at a much more affordable price! I purchased to protect my Fractal AX8 and it fits perfectly. I was able to cut the foam perfectly and to my specific needs.

not bad but not great either. a bit pricey, ok quality, not sure if I'd buy again. yes it is a hard case, but I've seen better for cheaper.
