Are these cups recyclable or compostable?

According to the manufacturer this product is not recyclable because the cup is lined with polyethylene but you can compost it: Made with 90% plant-based renewable resources and made with either SFI or FSC certified paperboard. anyone try these vs Genuine Joe cups? I wonder how these compare as these Solo cups are better priced in quantity.

I've never used the Genuine Joe cups so I can't compare them, but I will say that these get very hot when using them for hot drinks. People in the office complained. And they weaken when holding any liquid for a long period of time. They are best used for water-cooler cups. I like them because they are white/clean looking, though.

I tried insulated solo, dixie, giant brand - dixie tasted best. even those taste petroleum product compared to paper. do these solo paper taste odd?

we use them at a fire station & no complaints about taste of hot to touch,,, I find no taste problem & I'm sensitive to flavor & odor changes.
