In order to be a good punch it needs to fit snuggly into the bushing hole. It is way to small so you never get a good center. I don't use the center punch. I just drill holes using the bushings, but that does wear them out a bit. If you don't hold it securely it can slide around. If I were designing this I would add a clamp that would hold it to the cabinet door. Or a better fitting center punch so you can remove the jig while drilling.
