Sturdy better quality than my toner condenser mic
I do like this mic its great to be able to make songs and not have any of the background noise, I have found a way to get noise cancelling on this mic and I had to play with the mixer a little bit to get it setup properly but let me tell you something, it's definitely a contender for the shure sm7b. Trust me it's definitely worth every penny.

Great for podcasts
I podcast in my workshop where there is no acoustic dampening, so this dynamic mic sounds much better than the previous condenser mic I was using. It is well made, sounds great and looks great on camera.

Excellent for voice / podcasts
Have used a variety of mics for podcasting. This is easily the best in terms of quality. Works perfectly with Zoom H4n Pro.

Excellent for amateur radio.
The AT2040 is well built and a bargain XLR microphone, on air tests on ssb are very good. It's heavy so bare that in mind if you are mounting on a boom arm.

Not what I expected being a hyper mic
I did see diagrams that this microphone picks up what's ahead and nothing to the side or behind. I was very wrong. Someone later said hyper means it hears a pin drop, and that pin can be picked up behind the mic. I was disappointed but at least I have a mic for some other time.
