Amphony Wireless Audio Receiver / Amplifiers Deliver the Sound !!
The Amphony Wireless Audio Receiver / Amplifiers (model 880) work GREAT !! I used them to hook up my Technics Stereo Receiver model SA - GX190 to two Pioneer CS-77A speakers. Clear and beautiful sounds are coming out of those speakers. New life for some good aged equipment. The Technics Stereo Receiver model SA-GX190 has an Amphony multichannel Transmitter (model 800) attached to it to send the audio wireless signal to the Amphony Amplifiers (model 880). There is one amplifier for each speaker. The real beauty is sound delivery with out wires running across the floor, Thanks to Amphony and HiFi Corner !!

Doesn’t work
I have a large living room. Distance to the surround speaker is 25-35 ft. The intermittent signal was so bad I had to disconnect. It would connect for a second and then disconnect for another second. I did replace it with SVS Soundpath, one kit for each speaker. But it delivers a line level signal that requires a powered speaker. Worked well - until I found an electrician to run wires for me. Problem solved.

Had trouble with pops and static.
It work, but there is too much noise. I had to replace the system with a better one.

No popping noise
I had a set and one had continuous popping noise (like a capacitor charging and discharging). Many people complain about this but I took a chance and ordered one replacement. No popping noise. Works great. Used in surround sound system for surround (left and right side) speakers (all others are wired). This was the best and only real option I could find and it works great. The are about 13 ft. away with no obstruction from transmitter. I believe as long as you do not unplug the power supply from the receiver module (unplug from wall only) you should be fine and should not develop the popping sound. I've had the set for over a year and a half. The noise started after six months when I unplugged them numerous times. One never developed the noise. Some complained theirs started as soon as they connected them. You are taking a chance, but from what Ive read about the other option is it pops too. I rate this particular module three stars because although it works great now, I can't trust it yet. Ill review this a year from now.

Unbelievable sound, don’t listen to the hay sayers.
For those who complain about a hissing in their speakers when no sound comes out, these come with a volume control. With volume control all the way up, yes, there is the hissing. Why you would ever need the receiver volume that high is beyond me. I have my 880 receiver volume a bit below half, no noise, and the sound is so much louder than my Yamaha receiver puts out, I only have to turn the Yamaha receiver volume up half of what I used to. The sound is crisp and clear, no hiss, and gives great amplification to my Yamaha receiver. I can’t believe I waited so long to purchase these. Highly Recommend.

Too good to be true
I purchased the transmitter along with an 800 Receiver and two 880 receivers so I could avoid running speaker wire across two doorways. The concept sounds amazing, but the reality is that the equipment doesn't work as described when you live in an area where there are other wireless networks. When I hooked the equipment up, the speakers had a high-pitched buzz and the music kept dropping out. I consulted the troubleshooting guide and slowly worked my way through all of the recommended fixes. I relocated the equipment, I added surge protectors, I moved my wireless network to a different band (which slowed down my network and caused problems with the rest of my wireless equipment that took some time to resolve). I upgraded all of the speaker wire and re configured my stereo setup. But none of these fixed the problem, so I called Amphony technical support. When I described the situation and all of the actions I had already taken, the tech support guy said it sounds like the equipment is working as expected and that because I live in a high-rise in the middle of a densely populated city, there is just too much interference for this equipment to work. Unfortunately, by the time I got through all of the troubleshooting and equipment configuration, I was already past the 30 day return window. Amphony told me that no customer would want to purchase equipment that had already been in use by another customer for over 30 days. I honestly had to laugh at that. The equipment is cheap plastic like something you would buy at Radio Shack for $15 and the speajker wire they send is low quality. I'm out $300 and doubt I'll be able to sell this equipment on eBay. I'm sure Amphony was just glad to make the sale and it doesn't surprise me they don't want their equipment back. If you live in a remote area, this might work for you.
