Real Rabbit Fur Mice Cat Toys 6-pack

Just like I remember them. When it was just an all cat household, my cat Kayla used to love playing with these mice. They were her most favorite toy. We eventually added in dogs who wanted to eat the cat toys especially these mice. So while we tried to contain the toys in a cat only room (cats had run of house but also had a dog-free zone for their pleasure), these mouse toys were eventually lost. Now that she and her brother Joey are nearly 18 years old and showing more signs of aging, I wanted to bring back some interesting activities and toys that they hadn't bothered with in a long while. I immediately thought about these "mousies", and bought the 6 pack. They are as I remember them- small with raggedy fur, and bead eyes and nose. They have that beloved rattle. Since we have dogs who would love to eat these, and our dog free cat room isn't used as often I decided to keep these at my desk. My cats like to sit at my desk with me, and I thought that having them available to be played with when they are supervised would make for a nice enrichment activity. Sure enough, my girl loves her mousies. Not with the fervor and excitement of her youth, but definitely a noticeable perking up when I bring them out and toss them in front of her. She will lightly bat at them, smell them, rub on them. They dont have much of a smell that can detect, but to add interest I placed them in a baggy with catnip. Then I store them that way until next "play" session. I am glad the real rabbit fur mice are still around. It has been nice to present her with a beloved toy from her youth.

I bought a bag of these mice over a year ago and then couldn't find them again in my go to pet store. My cat unearthed one from only he knows where and began chasing it around. He loves the way it rattles when he shakes it. He managed to remove the material covering the body, and I discovered it was rabbit fur. I searched the internet and found them on Amazon. He absolutely loves playtime with me and one of these mice to chase and fetch. The fur on the darker mice in the six pack was quite sparce, and the body of one of the mice caved in, so I gave both sturdiness and durability a 3. I just ordered a 24 pack of them so I won't run out for a while. Wish I knew where my cat, Pocket the Incorrigible, is stashing them.

Some cats are not good drunks. I have a mama cat that gave us 6 beautiful kittens. All of them are bad drunks. Yes, that's right. Some cats can't handle catnip without getting mean. These mice have no catnip but they do make noise. My cat and kittens love them. And the fur makes them love there toy even more. They love there mice so much we were able to train them to play fetch and they all retrieve there mice and drop them at our feet to throw again.

My cats always loved these. But the version I used to buy had glued nose/eyes. I always cut off the ears, and knocked off the glued eyes and nose and cut the tail for safety so the cats wouldn't swallow any of that. These are fairly sturdy but the eyes/nose are hard plastic and not glued, but have spikes on one end instead. Fairly easy to get the nose off, but not the eyes. So not useable for me, as my cats play with them too hard. Even worse now with spikes on one end. Too bad as they love the fur and the size is right. Have to keep looking for original version.

My last kitten was over two decades ago as she passed at almost 19 years old. I recently took in an abandoned kitten & found my old cat's bag of toys with an old and well loved rabbit fur mouse. The kitten fell in love with it & played with it most of the day. She'd cry if she lost it, the only toy she does that for. Due to age, the old miuse went bald & the tail came out. I am thankful to have found these online because I could not find then locally. They arrived quickly and look great. The kitten took to them immediately and wore herself out playing with a new mouse. After ten years of pet free life I recently adopted a new kitty. Back in the day, the pet stores had bowls of these mice by the cash register and I would often buy one when I was in buying cat food. My old cat loved them. At least until the tails came off. And he was good at removing the tails. The synthetic ones were spurned, it had to be the real fur. Well these seem to no longer be a thing, for impulse buys at the pet store. The cashier had never heard of them and they only had the synthetic ones. So I searched and found them here. My new kitty loves them just as much. But has not yet developed the tail removal skill. I inspected the eyes and noses and they seem pretty firmly attached. I think it would take a lot of hard chewing to get them out, and by then the tails would be long gone. I will keep watch for issues but I am not worried.

Both our cats love these. Our cats will toss them in the air and carry them around in their mouth. It is so enjoyable to watch them play with these mice. The only downside is that each of these toy mice is only good for about 30 seconds worth of play time. The cats end up putting them under the couch. I don't understand their reason for doing this. My wife tells both cats "Don't you guys put these under the couch" and guess what, they do it anyway. This happens over and over every day because she gets out the yard stick and she uses it to get the mice out from under the couch. The cats get so happy when they see the yard stick because they know their going to get about 30 of these mouse toys again.

I was extremely happy when these arrived as they were in good condition had what sounded like a small rattle inside and would be perfect for my cat whom can't have catnip due to food allergies. Unfortunately, my 14 pound (not overweight by any means just tall) Maine Coon Mix cat refused to play with the mouse I took out. My 135 pound (again not overweight just tall) Great Pyrenees dog decided to play with the mouse instead. The tail was gone within less than a minute and they became a choking hazard for both my pets rather quickly. Later that week, I tried another mouse hoping it was just a fluke. Nope. Once again, my cat refused to play with it; and my dog stole it from out of my room to take it downstairs to chew up. The rest of the mice are being stored on a shelf in my closet where my dog can't get at them. They're decent price if you know for a fact your cat will play with them and you don't have a large enough dog that can choke on these mice. However, in my situation they weren't worth the money.
