The smaller top drawer is for first aid items and other miscellaneous items. The height is perfect to place my backpack, and to hang my coat without any impediment. The width was perfect leaving me 2.5" of space for my 2 tall umbrellas. In addition, it was more cost efficient because I didn't need wheels. This is a good quality item, the draws slide easily as long as they are not overstuffed, and it was easy to use with no construction involved. This has been a functional item for the many purposes it is being used.
