TYR Catalyst 2 Training Paddles

I first discovered this when a family member was using this product in the sea, I wasted no time and ordered it and my husband brought it to me when he traveled. I used this all summer in the sea, it was awesome! LOVE it. Made swimming fun, exercised with them and I didn't even feel i was working out, swam faster and really could just hang out in the water moving my arms back and forth chatting for hours, no exaggeration! When I returned to the US I purchased another pair, again in the pool and really had fun. I even purchased a child's pair for my niece, and she loves hers!

I got the extra small and found that size was best. You want your middle finger to just reach the tip of the paddle. This design is much easier on the shoulder and better mimics your hand in the water, than the rigid solid plastic paddles. I highly recommend it for swimmers and triathletes as a swim tool.

Originally bought the Small, but had to change to an X-Small. These training paddles seem to run a bit large. The black plastic straps can be a bit challenging to put on, but once you secure them they stay put and do not loosen easily. They are great for use in drills to build arm and shoulder strength while swimming. You need to be careful to use good technique, however, or they can cause strain on the shoulder.

I love these paddles. The ones I had lasted at least 15 years. Finally one of the tubes wore out and I had to replace. Great product and lasts long!! I swim 5-7 times a week !

These paddles are incredible, my swimming has definitely improved since training with them! Shaved 13min off my IRONMAN swim time since last year!

I am really disappointed. I thought I was buying a size smaller down than the paddles I already have, when in fact these are quite large. And more disappointing, they did not thread the tubing through, but sold separately. I have found that the plastic paddles last forever, but the tubing wears relatively quickly.

I have extra large hands and these paddles fit my hands no problem. I have used the Red Medium size too, and they work fine. The shape of the paddle works well, pulling through the water and streamlining off the walls. My only complaint would be to provide longer straps for the wrist area, as I have no more than 1/2" of strap holding on either side.

I got this for my 10 year boy and its really good. The quality is good and he finds it good to use. It helps to pull the water better for hand movement. Overall a very good product for professional swimmers.
