Great price and Quality delivered on time!
I'm 69 yrs old and had to do repairs on my 2 story home, after attempting to go up there with no security I decided to purchase this along with a harness and tree climber rope. It was a good price and works perfectly as expected! I wrote a previous review in which I claimed it "was not a vulcanized plastic handle" I was INCORRECT this is and is very important as it give you that "SURE" grip when climbing!! I would by it again 👍👍

Same performance a big P, much lower price
My left hander is a Petzl. I've had it for more than a year. I just bought this one so that I would also have a right hand version. The quality seems about the same. They work equally well hoisting my 200 pounds up a rope. The only two differences I noticed are that 1) the petzyl has some plastic on a latch handle where this has metal and 2) the petzl has a big oval hole at the bottom where this has 2 smaller holes. This ascender claims to be certified by both UIAA and CE. I don't know how to confirm that this is true, but if it is, this certainly seems like a very good value for money.

Handy to use with harness & rope while picking avocados on a steep hillside
I use this with a harness and other climbing gear on a steep hillside to safely pick avocados. This ascender serves both as a belay holding device while picking (a traditional figure '8' is used to descend) and to assist in climbing back up the hillside.

Good item I wish I knew about sooner.
I purchased this item to help me with a roof replacement on an old barn roof. The roof is very steep and this item allowed me to make quick adjustments to hold my position when I moved up and down the roof. No more making knots when you change positions. Just release the lever to lower your rope or just pull the rope through the clamp device to take up the slack when you go up the roof. Item was a huge time saver. Looks heavy duty and robust, but I am no climber and will not be using it for that. For fall protection and holding my position on the roof work, it worked amazing.

Not it’s intended use, but it sure comes in handy in my garage these days
My climbing days are over, but this ascender sure comes in handy in my garage. As I’ve gotten older, my hand strength has gotten weaker, and working the system of pulleys holding up my old ladders and boats was getting harder and harder. Until I got the idea to try using an ascender to lift and lower everything in and out of the rafters. Excellent quality, sturdy design, prompt delivery. Very happy customer. A little disappointed that I won’t be using it going up Half Dome, but I’ll be appreciating my garage time a lot more now.
