After I wrote the review of my experience I was immediately contacted by the supplier. The rep. explained that the bad product may be a result from a bad batch of production. They sent me another package and asked me not to be bothered with shipping the original package. Upon receiving the replacement package I inspected the ties for quality. I can say these are much better quality ties. There is quite a bit of ratcheting friction when you pull the ties and it holds pretty good. You can feel the ratchet action when ties are pulled. In the last three days we've used about 100 of the cables and only had 1 failure. That is much better than the ones I usually purchase a Harbor Freight. I picked this brand in part because they claimed to be UV resistant. I'll find that out in a year or two.
