Perfect for spreading seeds, or whatever. I prefer it to other methods.
OK, I've got the push spreader. However, this is so, so much easier to use and easy to clean. Material is sturdy, solid plastic which has held up and cleaned up well. Easy to store because doesn't take up lots of room like traditional spreaders. Perfect for spreading seeds, or whatever. I prefer it to other methods. It's great. Love the simple, classic design. Highly recommend.

Great for Use With Ice-Melter
My wife really loves this for applying ice-melter on our stairs, as it provides lots of options for distributing (difference sized openings), and is much small and lighter than the ones sold by the ice-melter companies. She would highly recommend !

Huge! Happy to finally have it!
I've been eyeballing this for a year, waiting for it to go on sale, scooped it up, and was like whoa!! When I opened the box it was bigger than I expected sturdy plastic, its gonna hold what ever I put in it.. my only thoughts on it, is how much I could struggle with opening it with a winter jacket and Mittens, or even gloves, because I can struggle with it as is now, because of my size and weak fingers. My second thought is of coarse I take care of the products I buy, but my adult men... not so much.. would they be absent minded and whip it here or over there when they needed to put it down or use it as a hammer to dig out cold salt rock or sand in the winter.. yes.. would the plastic break in my hands.. no, would it break in their hands when its cold out.... not sure, but im getting irked just thinking about it, because everyone knows how plastic is in the winter... ill keep you posted after 2025 for sure... Feb. 16, 2026. ... K im back for my update.. so far in new england we've had a few good storms, and very cold ice days were this Shaker was used by myself and my guys, unbestknown to me at the time, but it was fully intact when I inspected it, so 5 stars for holding up! Before the storms hit, I ended up grabbing it and switching it to the front door, where it sat inside the warm house, yeah I know.. I should have left it in the back hall in the freezing cold just to see how it held up, but I just didn't want to chance it have everyone touching it before I could try it out myself, especially hearing about how the other one was used to get the salt rock up onto the roof, I was glad this was safe and far away from his hands. But I noticed I did have some good quality shaking problems with the salt I grabbed from the dpw yard.. you know that real clunky stuff.. it would get stuck between the biggest opening, irritating, but not too bad. Twisting it off, originally I thought id struggle, but with Bulky jacket and Mittens using all that material I didn't have a problem twisting off the top to refill. I dont have much else to add, except I was happy to have it, glad no one decided to use it to break ice like they did out back and im thinking the front of the house is where it should stay, that way I can enjoy it for along time, because its a real nice item I like it a lot, if that does change ill definitely post another update here!

Convenient for spreading granules in a small area
Perfect size for distributing any type of granules, and it's more convenient than having to use a large wheeled spreader. I like the rotating top that allows me to adjust the rate at which the granules are released.

It's come in handy
For my business it has definitely come in handy and saved me time for going back and forth for getting the salt or what you want to put in it
