Love these!
I agree with other reviews that the gold color is a bit off, but I spray painted these and other gold accents I used throughout my home office so they matched. To be expected with ordering multiple gold items from separate vendors. I used these brackets to hang six foot 2x8 boards (nominal measurements 1.5" x 7.25"). Because the boards are 24lbs each, I used deck screws in the upper screw holes into the studs. The brackets are heavy duty and perfect for my project.

Very sturdy
I ordered these brackets as a way to add shelving in a bathroom. My husband installed them and we were pleased with how they turned out. The bracket looked a bit industrial against the wall so I’ve just placed our accessories in front of that portion to hide it.

Lovely
I really like these. They are nice quality with a nice finish. The screws are a matching gold which is a bonus. I chose rough hewn wood for the shelves and the combination is beautiful. It looks high end but was a great deal.

Not Brass
These seem very sturdy and easy to install, but they aren’t brass. They look like they’ve been spray painted with a sparkly medium brown paint.

NOT for 8" boards
The product information explicitly states these brackets are suitable for 1" by 8" boards. It also shows a measurement that negates that statement. I decided to find out for myself and in spite of the good quality and thoughtful packaging that includes a cute, handy little level (that I wanted to keep but didn't) I can't use them on my 1" x 8" shelf boards. They might work on 7.25" but not 8". Disappointing. I hope they fix the product post because all these returns are a big waste of resources!

Not the size it states!!!
I wanted to love these shelf brackets. I read the reviews and they said the 8inch shelves didn’t fit. So based on those reviews I got 7 inch shelves from Menards. Guess what? They still don’t fit!!! So the brackets at least 1 1/2 inches smaller than they advertise! Now I have to send them back and look for others. Do not recommend!
