Does this work with a sheet rock ceiling?

It should work as long as you can screw a small hook into the ceiling. On the other hand, it was not overly sensitive to light up when touched with the car, and battery died after a little while...so you might be able to find a cheaper option that does the same. Have an awesome day, Dragan

What batteries does this take

This item takes a quantity of THREE: AG13 button-cell alkaline batteries (L1154, LR44, A76, or PX76A models will also work). This information was taken from the actual instructions, for which I SAVE!

How long is the line?

My sting was about 6 foot long. You can always tie more string on if needed.
