1:48 Tamiya Grumman F-14A Tomcat Model Kit

This Tamiya F14A Tomcat kit is one of the best on the market. It might actually be best in its scale. The manufacturing is flawless, pieces fit together perfectly with little work, the detailing is impressive, the instructions are always great like any Tamiya kit, and the included decals are phenomenal, they are a little thick for the professional model builder and probably would require a little sanding after a gloss coat, but for an intermediate or advanced beginner, they are perfect. There are so many aftermarket parts available for this kit -you’d be surprised the level of detail you can get with a few extra add-ons. I would not recommend this kit for a first or second time beginning model airplane builder. It is a bit complicated, and there are lots of choices you need to make during the building of it that may not be suitable for someone who has never built a model airplane before. However, if you are someone who has built a few model airplanes in the past -maybe an intermediate model builder or advanced beginner - I would highly recommend this kit. Bottom line, this is an excellent model kit. It can be taken to professional levels of building, it can also be built straight out of the box with no extra parts or add-ons, and still produce something that you can be proud of displaying. I would not recommend this kit for a basic beginning model builder. There is some skill and fine detail work that isn’t suitable for a first time airplane model kit. But this is a kit that will challenge you and introduce you to some new skills and is definitely worth taking a look at. Also, the prices on Amazon for this kit are better by far than I have seen in person at local Hobby shops!

Tamiya is the gold standard in scale plastic models. Highly detailed and accurate. This is a Level 5 kit and is for the skilled and exprerienced model builder due to they are expensive. Expensive, but well worth the coat when you see the finished product.

As usual, tamiya models are amazing. Great detail, crisp and nicely recessed panel lines. As long as you properly remove the parts from the sprue, it will fit together like lego. The decals are nice and thin but not fragile (within reason of course). I'm not an aviation geek so I can't speak for the accuracy but I assume it's at least decent. It's definitely not for a beginner who began literally yesterday but a competent beginner shouldn't have much, if any, trouble. Note: the wires sticking out of my model are not a part of the model. They're for leds that I used to simulate the engines.

Tamiya has always been a top quality model. I would always prefer them and bought them when stationed in Okinawa.

Tamiya makes an excellent option for the F14A and D Tomcats and the best in their scale IMO! Shape is great and out of box it makes an EXCELLENT model! Very detailed with nice panel lines and the decals are also very nice that come with the kit. Typical loadout for the old F14A Jet and stencils included along with options for three different Jets! Highly recommended model kit.

Es lindo y se ve muy real pero por otro lado para armarlo necesitas un kit y pintura entonces debes revisar bien usualmente vas a necesitar herramientas y algo de pintura especial

This a typical Tamiya kit. Great parts fit, lots of detail, and even the decals were good.

Typical amazing Tamiya high quality! I have not built this kit yet, but after watching build reviews, and looking at the plastic, instructions, it looks beautiful! Can't wait to get it on the workbench!

ちょっと高額なキットですが、パーツ分割や合いも良く、スムーズに組み立てできました。パネルラインやリベットも綺麗で、スミ入れだけで充分迫力がでます。 デカールも薄くても透けないし、ニス部もほとんど目立たないです。 非常に完成度の高いキットです。
