Sharp. Durable. Versatile.
I always have a utility knife in my pocket. It gets used daily. Over the years I've had a few dozen utility knives. They must be alive since they wander away and vanish. This OLFA knife is terrific. The handle is comfortable. The curve of the butt gives a good grip. The blade extends and retracts very smoothly. The blade (and the OLFA replacement blades) are the perfect example of "sharp." The coating on the blades seems to keep them cleaner so they glide through materials. I have come to prefer utility knives with snap-off blades for most jobs. There is always a sharp cutting tip just a snap away. The long blades extend into odd places to do odd things like retrieving a small item from a crack. The long blades also flex quite a bit which makes flush trimming easy. That works for paint prep, too. I recently had to paint the railing of a deck. A snap-off blade in a utility knife was the best tool for most of the prep work, with a little help from a standard scraper and a sanding block. The knife worked so well I only needed one sheet of sandpaper for 36 feet of painted railing, posts, and filler panels. The back side of these blades is also handy as a scraper when you don't need super sharpness. When Paul Seller talks about cutting a knife wall he could be talking about this utility knife. It's a great combo with a chisel and mallet on wood. I'm very happy with this new knife. With a 50-pack of blades I hope this one does not grow legs and walk.

I had no idea you could love a utility knife, but here we are
I had no idea that it was possible to care so much about a utility knife but I love this tool. It's very comfortable and secure to hold, the rubber is in the right places and grippy without being gummy. The fiberglass reinforced plastic in the handle is never going to break, it's very thick and tough. Aa a side note, whoever designs Olfa's molds does a fantastic job, the overmolding is perfect. The mechanism is very secure and feels great to use. The blade is held in the tip so that it gets as much reinforcement from the handle as it can and so cuts are very confident with no wavering or wandering. Super sharp blade with a nice durable edge. The metal tang at the end is surprisingly useful and will even help keep your blade sharper longer. How? There's all kinds of little things you might use (and dull) the edge of the blade for that you can use the tang for instead - creasing something, working something into a corner, prying. It even works as a flat blade screwdriver in a pinch. Definitely something this one has over other knives I've used. I am convinced this is as close to a perfect utility knife as you can get and for $10 there's no reason to settle for less.

An asset for every artist
Great for 3d sculpting projects, trimming, etc. Easy to cut clean and precisely. One thing to be mindful of, is that sometimes it can be easy to forget to slide the blade back in when you're not using it. So, if you have high-energy cats running around your art studio, be sure to always slide the knife back in when you're not using it!!

Excellent cutter
Excellent cutter. Sharp point, good glide in and out mechanism and over all good quality. Should last a long time for my use. I liked it so much, I bought a second one.

Perhaps the finest utility knife you can purchase.
I'm old enough to remember the old single blade use a screwdriver to change the blade Stanley utility knife. This along with the https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006SJAR0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 will be the only kind I use from now on. Ultra sharp, easy to change the blade even though those blade changes are few and far between. Feels good in hand and I've never once had the blade slip even with some serious force put to it. The sister to this, the 5003 L-1 allows for infinite blade length out, so if you only want 1mm of blade out you can do it, not quite as convenient due to the wheel lock but it has it's uses. This model is perfect for everyday use such as getting recycled ready, opening packages, etc etc. The 5003 is great for a long wire strip, cutting just one layer of something etc because of the ability to lock the blade at any depth unlike this model that has preset detents. I suggest owning both, these two with a 10 pack of ultra sharp blades will last you a good 5 years of typical household use till you need to buy more blades. Highly recommend.

it's an olfa knife
I think it's a good quality olfa knife, and the blades seem to handle the many things I throw at it. the body of the olfa knife is wierd, with a sliding knob that brings the blade up and down, and it does get a little stuck trying to go upwards more than one blade, but it's still possible to use. I have no idea if it's a fault of the product or a learning curve of not reading Japanese. also, this knife is extremely portable, and fits nicely in a bag. the knife comes fully assembled, and I haven't tried breaking the blades or replacing them, so I do not know how that process will go. I think the knife is very versatile, being able to cut cardboard and foam easily, whilst being able to cut into more durable things like chipboard. the packaging is cute as well, and I have it hanging up as a dorm decoration because the design is cool. just be weary as it is in Japanese if you can't read that, but it does come with pictures on the back with instructions.

OLFA excellent
Needed an additional utility knife and I have smaller version which is excellent. Both of these are not cheap ones you find in discount stores. Quality with both knife as well as blades are well above cheaper versions.

OLFA LA-X Utility Knife: Feels Like It Could Cut Through Regret
Pretty good? Nah โ this thing is solid. The OLFA 18mm LA-X feels like the kind of knife that wouldnโt just slice cardboard, but would do it while judging all your cheaper utility knives for being weak. Heavy-duty? Absolutely. The grip is no-slip and no-nonsense, like itโs daring your hand to even think about losing control. It feels strong, sturdy, and ready to tackle just about anything short of cutting through your emotional baggage. Definitely not your average box opener โ this is a professional-level โI mean businessโ kind of knife.

Lightweight, efficient and versatile. This knife is the best.
Best knife on the market bar none. Weighs barely anything, offers a very comfortable grip, it is extremely efficient and the blades are very sharp. Only downfall is that the blades can break off pretty easy if not careful so I would abstain from cutting heavy materials. I use the solid hook end of the knife to clean up drywall and mud from boxes during finishing without worrying of breaking or dulling blades and you can also use it to pull off tabs of Device boxes. Would recommend to anybody looking for an efficient cutting tool.

A miracle incarnated!
Amazing knife. Super grippy, compact and easily adjustable. The slider doesn't provide a super stiff blade but for the work i'm doing, it's not needed. I came into the market looking for something easy to use for design work (prototyping, modelmaking etc..) and this makes my life abit easier and quicker. The Olfa ultrasharp blades simply compliment this product and vice-versa. Also, the scorching end on the knife is very solid and allows you to fold paper and the like very easily. Also ideal for opening boxes and even a beer!

Very nice to use, great for cutting cosplay foam
I used this knife mainly to cut foam for cosplay and it's really great. The telescoping mechanism is nice because you don't have to lock anything. Just push out the size and it stays properly. I've never changed blades so far because I just use a knife sharpener to keep its edge keen. The backend hook like metal piece is useful as well when you need something rigid to poke with, without using the nice itself.
