Is everybody having a super hard time opening the feeding compartment?

The feeding compartment door is somewhat difficult to open, but it is supposed to be tight so moisture doesn't get in to soak the food. Try this: Hold the feeder in both hands, with the compartment pointed outwards (the button lights side will face you). Put BOTH thumbs on the "grooved" section of the door. Pressing the feeder gently against your chest for leverage, push the door outwards. Doing it this way applies even pressure on the door, making it easier to open. Works for me anyway.

Is this waterproof for outdoor use?

The description says, quote: "FREESEA Water Pumps designed for use in Ponds, backyard fountain/waterfall, aquarium, fish tank, garden statuary, patio drip irrigation system and hydroponic systems and more."

How do you get the clamp off to mount it using the sticky pad?

Pull straight out. It takes a little muscle but no tools. It just snaps back in.

I have bottom and top feeders. Can i mix the food together in the feeder?

Even tho you can mix food, it creates a chance-based feeding system; bad enough luck and it may dispense unevenly several times in a row leaving half your fish hungry. For best results, I'd think two feeders is better than mixing.
