ecobee4 Smart Thermostat

I only purchased this device because everyone in the customer reviews raved about the the customer support . They were 100% correct, the customer support guy was very patient and the fact that you can send pictures makes everything so much easier. The device itself is very user friendly, and it looks good on the wall.

I just moved into a house built in the 90s that had a completely ancient thermostat. Honestly, I could not even figure out how to use it, it was just so archaic! I bought this and had a professional install it, so I can't comment on the installation process, but I can say that it didn't take the guy I hired too long to do it, and I didn't hear any groaning or swearing, so I'm guessing it was pretty easy as long as you know what you're doing! :-) The interface is very intuitive and easy to figure out, and setting up the app on my phone was a breeze -- the Ecobee unit basically walks you through it. Features: I can set the temperature I want it to cool my house down to, the temp I want it to heat my house up to, and I can set it to auto (it will heat or cool as necessary) or I can specially just tell it to cool or to heat. There are settings for vacation mode. But really the best for me is the app! If I'm away from the house, I can check on what the temp is and I can turn the heat or A/C on while I'm away -- say, 1 hour before I'm about to arrive home, so my house is at my desired temp when I arrive! Also, if I'm in my back room and feeling too lazy to walk to the center of the house where the thermostat is, I just whip out my phone, open the app, and turn the A/C on or off (whatever I am looking to do) without having to get off the couch! Ah, modern technology is awesome! :-) I did not integrate it with Alexa as I don't have Alexa, and I did not use the remote sensor so I cannot comment on that, though that does seem like a handy little extra!

Love these things. Bought 2 one for each AC unit. They can be programmed for day time, sleep time, away time, vacation time. Do t have to worry about changing the thermostat up and down or forgetting to turn up or down at night or in the mornings when waking up. Has Alexa and remote sensors to tell temps of rooms needed the most. Can lock out the keypad so no one can change the temp or settings. Came with step by step instructions for install. Very simple install and self explanatory.

It was easy to setup and it looks great! I bought this thermostat to replace my nest thermostat where the wifi connectivity stop working and nest wouldn't help me since it was out of warranty. Glad I made the switch, 3 year warranty on this unit and it came with a remote sensor!
