Easy-enough assembly. Great, minimalist look. Great quality.
FUNCTION & LOOK: Five stars, very nice. Looks classy. Nice, genuine wood. No complaints so far! Found this thanks to a Wirecutter rec. Overall, fantastic for the price (compared to similar quality & more expensive frames). ASSEMBLY: Got this about a week ago and so far love it. I put it together myself [what? a woman!? BY HERSELF?! so neat so hot so super cool... and it's just, like, an ordinary tuesday after work for me (not to brag but to brag...)]. No but seriously, I have every faith anyone could do this assembly in reasonable time—UNLESS putting furniture together inherently frustrates you... then maybe recruit help. No shame in it. Note -- assembly: I did have to pause and double-check myself at one point where the directions confused me, it turned out I was doing it right, so I happily just moved on and ended up finishing pretty quickly. I wasn't timing it, so I can't say I did it in under an hour, or thirty minutes. But it feels like it was super quick... Note 2 -- brand/assembly: I love the little ratchet allen wrench this comes with! Our last bed frame was also from Zinus, a metal one we now use in our guest room, & that came with one, too. We've used that wrench assembling other, non-Zinus things—it's just *so* handy... Note 3 -- brand: Zinus also throws in this other, to me, funny, but also thoughtful & almost-classy touch when you buy their stuff—at least the bed frames (I think it's meant to say, hey, customer, we care enough to go the extra mile; we like you; so please can we haz 5 stars? & maybe/probably it's useful to some folks): a very svelt green envelope filled with several greeting cards. The cards inside have minimalist/generally likeable cover designs and are blank on the inside. I believe they're meant to be filled in & gifted to friends and loved ones... and I almost maybe would, except the back side says "Zinus" and has the logo and links to their site, and, idk... maybe this is just me, but, for me, if I'm receiving this card as a gift, I'm not feeling super special once I recognize (or don't recognize but then log on to the website and quickly learn about) the brand, and that they make furniture, and then piece together this cheap/lazy buddy of mine just gave me whatever they had lying around from some totally unrelated, not-for-me, probably-Amazon purchase... I would recommend to the brand: consider taking out the self-promotion on the back. I know, it seems to defeat much of the point of this nice touch, but, if there are many others like me, they ain't gifting these to people unless you take that out. And if I *could* gift these to people, I'd think, wow, cool brand. Very classy touch. (As it is, I find it classy then not classy then kind of classy then mostly confusing but still hope you keep it going with or without the logo etc.)

Sturdy and Worth the couple hundred.
My mom already has this bed frame. She has the cherry one or whatever it’s called. Main thing is mine is taller than hers. I recently purchased the natural wood one out of curiosity and the fact that I was sleeping on the floor. Bought it, shipped and delivered same week. Box was extremely heavy but I did it by myself. Everything was organized in the box and easy to take out. One I started putting it together it was quite simple. The instructions were not the best just as a whole. But we’re easy to navigate while putting things together. Some parts were quite obvious. Once it was together it was a solid piece of wood furniture. I’ve been using it the last week and it’s very sturdy. Sometimes if I pounce down it’ll make a little nose but honestly I think that’s from the slats. Because they have Velcro on them. Some bed frames have too much spacing between slats. Making the top and end of the bed sink in. These don’t do that. All areas of comfortable and level. I do personally think that if you want to move the bed and frame around. Take the bed off the frame to move it. It wants me to talk about holes but I don’t know what kind. I’d say just buy this if you need something that’s basic and good quality.

Pretty and sturdy, but ONE IMPORTANT NOTE...
DURING ASSEMBLY, it is very important that you do not fully tighten the screws in each corner one by one! First, line everything up and lightly screw in all four corners, and then go back and tighten them. If you don't do it this way, you will have a lot of trouble getting the four corners to line up together. I'm sure this is probably common knowledge for most people with furniture building experience, but it wasn't noted in the instructions and I was a bit scared that I was sent a frame with faulty holes. You will likely need someone to hold up the pieces while you're doing this part. Other than that, this bed frame is very sturdy and simple to assemble. Its perfectly compatible with my full-sized ZINUS green tea mattress. I've had it set up for over a month now and haven't noticed any squeakiness (it is used rarely though). The package it comes in isn't too heavy and the box is easy to move around; one person could even move it on their own if they're comfortable carrying around 45lbs. My package did not contain any missing parts, and the frame itself was in good condition other than a few discolored spots on the slats (they didn't have any odor, so I don't think they were mildew). My only complaint about the frame is that the "Natural" color is a bit more red than the image, but it ended up matching my room anyways. Overall, I recommend this bed frame for being easy to assemble and well-packaged.

Really solid, easy-to-assemble platform bed
I am really impressed with the quality of this platform bed. I have always purchased furniture from IKEA, since I don't like to spend a lot on furniture that may not move with me. I was looking for a platform bed that would allow me to easily make the bed (my IKEA beds have a bit of recess that makes tucking sheets a pain to do). I also wanted it to be made of wood that was raw pine or appeared similar in color to raw pine, given that my other bedroom items are raw or varnished pine. This bed fit the bill! It was packed well. The flat-packed materials were easy to remove and carry upstairs in pieces (the box for a Full was ~66 lbs, so a bit unruly to carry up steps) and there was minimal waste. A few contained styrofoam pieces and some thin foam sheets were all I had to throw away. The hardware was sealed up and labeled well in the instructions. It was actually logical, unlike IKEA and other flat-pack furniture; the bolts came in 3 sizes, and were labeled "S", "M", and "L." Really easy assembly instructions--it's 16 bolts in the legs, 10 bolts in the smaller support legs, and 8 bolts holding the crossbar anchors in place. The slatted base came in 2 sets of slats, so it's not unruly; the sides of the slats are held with hook-and-loop strips, which adhere to the strips on the bed frame...GENIUS! I always worried about the slats sliding sideways when moving my mattress in the past, but no longer. The wood is solid and fairly uniform in color. The quality is really good! I have purchased MDF furniture for more than this bed, with way worse quality. No wobbles or squeaks (there's no metal touching metal, no springs...so silence with a foam mattress!) and enough clearance under the frame to put some clothes storage and the like. Overall, a really solid purchase. I am not going to leave this one behind on my next move!

Nice platform bed/questionable long-term product support
I Purchased, the Zinus platform bed several years ago. The bed has had very limited use. My initial impression Indicated that it was well constructed, attractive, had substantial components, and easy to assemble Recently, the bedframe lost its stability. None of the beds leg attachment Bolts were missing or loose. A steel strut connects the front and rear bed frames. It provides stability to the frame on which all the bed slats and mattress rest. It bears the weight of a person occupying it. My initial inspection revealed that both screws securing the strut to the rear frame had become loose and disappeared. The screws on the other side of the strut were also loose. The entire bedframe was out of square and totally compromised. I contacted the seller with multiple emails and telephone calls. I was required to provide information which duplicated some of the sellers previous inquiries. I sensed that the seller was going to give me a.” no” answer to my request. My request involved being provided with two screws to replace those which had been lost. My request to the seller was a no cost option, and” good will” gesture for any customer who made a purchase from them. I was informed that it was their protocol not to provide any assistance, beyond the five-year warranty. Period.. I indicated a willingness to buy the screws from them. Again, no luck. I would expect that they would provide the specifics on the required hardware and where to go to get a replacement part. Again, no luck. Go out into the world and find it on your own. I was providing more information to the sellers representative, than was coming back to me. Conclusion:BUYER BEWARE: the preceding product may appear to be a good value at first as indicated. The seller provides no long-term assistance. Should there be a problem with his product. A Critical component failed during the limited use of this product and compromised its structural integrity. The issue needs to be addressed with a simple low cost fix so that it does not occur again Big Bob

Impressive: easy to assemble, sturdy and attractive
I'm incredibly impressed with this bed platform. I ordered a Nectar mattress so I (thankfully) had to get rid of the old box spring and the stupid metal frame I had under it. 1) it was very nicely packaged. Double-boxed. All of the pieces (I got the cedar finish) were wrapped so they were fully protected from scratches, dings, etc. All pieces were in perfect condition. There were some styrofoam pieces in the box to help protect the frame, but those piece were wrapped in plastic so you didn't have styrofoam shrapnel all over the frame (or you, or the room). Brilliant! 2) very easy to assemble. The instructions are clear, the hardware is securely packaged, and all of the wood pieces are numbered. IKEA could learn a lot from them. They even give you an adorable ratchet wrench for it! I was able to assemble it by myself in about 15-20 minutes, and I wasn't rushing. 3) very sturdy platform, provides excellent support for the mattress. The slats are well secured so they won't slide. The platform has a thick leg at each corner, another leg in the middle of the long side, and a metal brace down the middle with 3 legs of its own - that's 9 points of support, if you don't do maths. 4) it's attractive - the wood finish is lovely, and it matches my other furniture very well. Well worth the money, and far better quality than I expected.

Excellent price (on sale), fairly sturdy, beautiful look
I bought this product when it was on sale over Memorial Day for about $110. I was hesitant because of the reduced price point (always be skeptical of a sale!) and many reviews which mentioned its lackluster sturdiness, but overall I have been pleased with the bed frame. Things I liked: 1) The price point. I searched for 2 months for a simple wood platform bed with good reviews. The sale price on this was outstanding. 2) The look. I originally wanted the espresso, but bought the cherry (it was the only one available during the sale). Honestly, glad I did. It's lovely. Unlike most cherry wood finishes, it's not a deep red. It's closer to a walnut. It adds warmth to my bedroom and I intentionally make my bed to let the frame peek out. It's also real wood with a finish! A steal! 3) Ease of assembly. It took me less than an hour to put it together the first time around. I actually moved the bed and reassembled it last month; it only took me 15 minutes the second time around. Went together cleanly and quickly again (which is a relief! this isn't like IKEA furniture where if you take it apart after building you're screwed!). Will also note the frame itself is relatively light and easy to lift and move. It's not a perfect product, but I would give it a 4.5/5 stars. Beautiful, easy to assemble, and has proven durable (albeit it's just me, a 6', 180lb man sleeping on it, without any midnight guests or adult activity partners...).

Sturdy frame that looks great
We wanted a sturdy, reasonably priced, wooden bed-frame and this fit the bill. It took me about an hour to assemble, the directions were easy to follow. I did most of it alone but had my daughter hold the vertical bar while I tightened the screws so the pieces stay aligned; I would definitely recommend this as the pieces kept falling when I tried to do that part alone. One thing to note is there are 4 (or maybe it was 6) washers that are a different color than the other washers; use the bronze color washers to attach the wood legs to the wood crossbars, the dark washers are for the metal support bar. I don't know if it matters but I assume there's a slight difference or there would be no point in having different colors. This frame is for our guest room so no one has slept on it yet but it feels very sturdy and doesn't make any noise when I tried it out. We're having company next week so if there's a problem, I will update this review.

Solid and attractive looking frame, very well packaged, real wood !!!
Review is for the twin size in rustic pine. The bed frame is solid, real wood as opposed to "re-engineered wood" from sawdust and glue. This makes it relatively light and strong. Everything fit together well, and of course they provide all fasteners, even some spares, and the wrench required to assemble the item. In fact they provide a small ratchet wrench making it even easier. The package arrived very well beaten up, scraped and dinged... but that was the outer layer. Then there was another box inside of double layer corrugated cardboard... it was also damaged. THEN there was yet another inner box of double corrugated cardboard which was only dinged in one place. Inside all of that was the product... not damaged at all. It was wrapped in foam, and spaces were filled with some kind of Styrofoam... but the Styrofoam was itself packaged in plastic bags so as not to fracture and fly all over the place. Extremely well packaged. One might ask how much of the price is for the packaging... but the item arrived unscathed. IMO this is a very good product, excellent packaging, highly recommended.

Well Made, Easy to Assemble, Sturdy and Not Squeaky
My husband and I bought 2 of these beds (full size) for our children. He put both of the beds together. He was impressed with how well the beds were carefully packaged in the boxes they came in. He said there was no damage on any of the pieces. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. We purchased Zinus Full Mattress - 12 Inch Green Tea Infused Memory Foam Mattresses to go with the wood beds and that was a perfect fit. Also, the beds (at least so far!) are not squeaky!
