Be careful pulling the marker out... You've been warned.
Well the first time I tried to use it, the string broke at the marker end. Ok, easy enough to take it apart and fix it. It's not even close to 17". It was about 24".. Ok... Easy enough to make it the right length while I had it apart fixing it. I used a hemostat (what? You don't have a hemostat laying around? lol)It would be a good idea to have a locking feature so you don't need 3 hands to use it... One hand on the recoil end at the fake hole, one pulling out the marker, OH! you need another hand to place a marker that ISN'T attached. I guess you could hold it with your foot.I suggest that you use some bright nail polish on the string to mark where 17" is if you don't have to take it apart to fix the length. (yeah, let it dry first b4 you let it retract.)Anyway, I didn't buy it for the marker/string thing, I bought it for the holes.. They are great. It's amazing how chewed up the area near the actual holes on a putting green are. WIth these, I can find an unused area and have a much better putting area. But come on Dave, $20 for 3 vinyl circles, 3 tees, 3 markers, and a cheap yoyo that broke the first time I tried to use it? Good thing we don't care what we spend on golf stuff...
