IB students should consider this book
It is very good, because I found that it covers most of Physics topics and explained reasonably well. However,1) Entropy as a disorder is a misconception, but the public still use this term2) The options are too brief, I expect a more depth of introduction (possibly because of I am doing 2nd year Physics at university)3) I have no idea where the other IB authors has written, because I am not a reviewer. I just speak out of what I have read.As a conclusion, this book is suitable for a student aimed for their IB exams, but if enthused in Physics this book is only remains a good introduction. By the way, I choose to buy this not because I do IB, but I suspect this book is worth for reading, which is true.

It's a great book, and it explains almost everything you need to know clearly and well. There are some bits here and there that aren't as descriptive - such as polarization in the wave characteristics chapter - but other than that, it is a very thorough and easy-to-learn-from book.

Expensive, bought new, arrived damaged.
I bought this book, new, for my daughter who just started IB. Item arrived on schedule. However, it is damaged, as per photos attached. I guess it got damaged from being loose, bashed around in the box, during transit. Or it is a used item being sold as new?? For such an expensive item at $75 inc tax, I expected better. I wanted to send a private message to the seller/Amazon but I cannot see any option to contact them privately, so I am having to do it this way, via a public review, in the hopes they will contact me directly with options either to send me a brand new, pristine copy, or a partial refund. Unfortunately, my daughter needs the book now and I am reluctant to return this copy.In addition, the book weighs a ton, not literally, but it is very heavy and large. It actually weighs just under 2 Kg, at 4lb8oz. Carrying this in a backpack in and out of school most days of the week, along with 2 or 3 other similar large books will eventually cause back/neck pain. It will require a sturdy, ergonomic backpack. Publishers should think about this and split the book into 2 or 3 volumes, rather than this, very large and cumbersome, heavier than a brick, single book. That’s my feedback for the seller and publishers. Thank you.

I hace better expectations in this book

Horrible
It would be really cool if Oxford had someone read through their book before publishing it. It's filled with errors. Same goes with all other 2016 Oxford IB science books.
