I love these hanging curtain lights - I live in a northern city where the winters bring very short days, with long, dark nights and adding these strings of purple lights to my living space has brightened and enlivened my nights. For such a small package, the LEDs on these strings are bright, and have lasted quite a bit longer than I had anticipated. I leave them on all the time, and they don't seem to add more than pennies to my electric bill. They are long enough that they cover nearly the entire wall of a small bedroom, and reach from the ceiling to the floor. The wiring is wound in tight circles when the curtain lights arrive for convenience, and the shape will slowly become more straight as gravity takes effect. This is my second set of curtain lights, my first order went dark after a year of constant, 24/7 use, which to me, for the price is more than adequate. The remote works well, but I have rarely used it, since I leave my curtain lights on continually. The eight settings programmed into the remote offer a variety of lighting modes, such as steady light, fast blinking, slow blinking, alternating, or waves, glittering, etc. There is also a dimmer option, with a simple higher or lower button. The head of the remote has an ON and OFF switch, as well as a timer. Be Aware: The way these lights are packaged for shipping, the individual strands come tied in circles, and although I have always installed them on my own, it would be easier to have a helping hand, since the wire has a tendency to snarl. I had this happen with one strand, and after that I unfurled the others with more care, and had no problems. Just a thought . . .

Bought this for my wedding but will be using this after for the large window in my house. The hooks are pretty sturdy & stay on. The wire is easy to work with but also seems thick enough to be able to set it up multiple times without breaking. The variety of colors is fun to play with & change up every once in a while. They're very bright though, would not suggest setting up in a bedroom. The lights look beautiful behind my photo backdrop & the remote works great. Would recommend instead of a light curtain that only has one color, worth every penny.

Updated Jan 8, 2025 adding the details about the lights and remotes. To start these lights are not difficult to put on the tree if you do a couple things. One, make it a 2 person job. Two, rather than holding the spool and unwrapping the wire or pulling the wire free; instead, unroll the spool releasing the cord and lightly run the lights thru your fist to take the bends out of the wire. If you unwrap by holding the light wire and untwisting it from around the spool, all the bends will coil rather than straightening out. Took us ~30 mins to put 2 strands on a 6ft tree. BTW we started at the top with one strand and went all the way to the bottom. Then we started at the bottom with the second strand and went to the top. Covers this 6ft tree well. perfect number of lights. (NOTE each strand has its own remote and “receiver” at the end of the cord where the plug is. The frequencies are the same for both. So you only need 1 remote; meaning you have a backup. However this does mean that if you’re across the room and the receivers are close together, then setting each strand to your own custom color can be a pain as Both pick up the signal. Mine are on opposite sides of the tree and still plug into the same place but even then i sometimes have to got over and point the remote at each strand receiver separately. Just something to note. It also will change modes, color combos etc when using various other living room remotes. For me they’re my Firestick, Samsung tv and my Sony soundbar remote. I have figured out that if I shield the end of the remote with my hand in between it and the tree, then it doesn’t bother them. Sometimes I forget though. It’s not enough of a hassle to dissuade me from purchasing more when the time comes. They’re just beautiful.) So many options for colors, color combos, settings for fading in/out, moving, flashing….I can’t even begin to list them all. I have a patriotic tree that I leave up year round and specifically wanted red & blue lights on my new white tree. They’re such little bitty lights on the wire but they’re absolutely beautiful and bright. Pics and video done by my cell phone distorts them. They are bold, pop against the white tree and give the entire tree a beautiful glow. I was worried by the negative comments on the frailty of the thin wires and tangling. Honestly we did not rush and less than half an hour to do so. No need to look any further. Great price and hopefully will last a very long time. I hate having to strip off all the ornaments to take off burned thru lights. Previously had a pre lit tree but lights fried in less than a year. Hoping these will last much longer. I agree that the plug ins are very large. I ran a surge protector along the baseboard to the back of the tree. Once the skirt is on and ornaments hung, you’ll not even see them. 1 HUGE complaint: There are what seems like an infinite amount of buttons on the remote (1 per strand and I purchased the 2pk) and I’ve got to look for the instructions because I can’t find them. Even if I do find them, it’s in very small print that I can’t read even with my glasses. A QR code to complete instructions on the numerous functions of the remote would be a superb idea. If one exists, I’d love to get a link. I’m excited to figure out the timer. Hoping to extend the life of the lights by not having them on 24/7. Definitely recommend.

Our old set of lights finally gave out so I ordered these to replace them. They come with everything you need, including a wall brick for the USB connection if needed. These arrive with the metal strings of lights curled up. Leave them like that until you have them placed where you want them, or it will be a far more difficult endeavor than you anticipated. Once in place, unroll each light strand and finish placing where you want. I love that these have solid light options! The remote control is easy to use. We have these in our bedroom sandwiched between sheer curtains and in the 3 days they've been up there is no noticeable heat to them (I check nightly).

I had some problems with my asking and one of my knees so I was just able to climb and hang these day before yesterday. The remote stopped working after the 6th button pressed. I thought maybe the battery died while sitting, even though the box was never even opened, so I replaced the battery. Still doesn't operate the lights. I can't increase or decrease light intensity or speed at all and have to go over to the plug if I want to change mode. I've since seen this exact item is actually sold through shien so I'm not surprised now that they're junk. Wasted next day laid up in pain from climbing up and down. But at least it would have been cheaper if I had bought it through them.

So it came today in a small box, with zero instructions and a remote. It’s safe to say I know how to operate the lights. However, why in the hell Simeon would take a thin wire set of lights off a running wire, just to coil them up and by all means make the consumer pay a couple Pennie’s more for a few zip ties is beyond me. Instead they decided to not only coil the wires hanging downward but they even must have thought it was necessary to then take the last four or so inches of the wire and wrap it around itself about seven times too many. I can understand one maybe getting a little twisted and kinked and give a little bit of a pain to unravel but really every single damn one of them? That’s a bit extreme, spend the extra couple Pennie’s and get some small zip ties or send a company rep to undo this tangled up mess of wires. I would say it would take about three sets and then the rep would be as ready to cut the damn things like I am. Other than that they work and the gf is happy.
