Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate - Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Natural Flavors

I’m really impressed with the Nutricost Grass-Fed Whey Isolate in the chocolate flavor. The ingredient list is clean, which is exactly what I look for in a daily protein. No junk, no artificial weirdness, and it’s gluten-free and non-GMO — big plus for me. The flavor is really solid for an isolate. It’s not overly sweet, and it doesn’t have that chalky or chemical taste you get from a lot of proteins. It mixes easily in water or milk with no clumps, and the texture stays smooth even when shaken, not blended. It’s also light on the stomach, which is something I need in a whey isolate. No bloating, no heaviness, just a clean protein that gets the job done. If you want a high-quality grass-fed isolate that tastes great and mixes perfectly, this is a great option. I’d definitely buy it again.

I was running out of my ON Whey Isolate w/Stevia, and can't seem to find it at a reasonable price anywhere; stumbled up on Vitacost's Whey Isolate w/Stevia - ingredients more or less match ON's, nutrition profile is essentially the same, and most importantly, it was actually available at a (not cheap, but reasonable) price...so I took a chance; it tastes exactly the same; actually mixes a bit better...some other reviewers mentioned that it's too sweet - I didn't find that to be the case, personally - I think it tastes delicious! I don't detect any aftertaste...basically if you want an equivalent isolate to ON's (and you're like me, you'd prefer to have it sweetened w/Stevia instead of artificial chemicals), I strongly recommend this, you won't be disappointed. PS: I'm slightly lactose intolerant; normal whey messes with my digestion; I started going w/ON's isolate b/c it didn't bother my stomach at all - same with this Vitacost Isolate: absolutely no digestive issues! PPS: Try it mixed it in some 5% Fage Greek yogurt for a pre/post workout (good combo of slow-digesting casein from the Greek yogurt & fast-digesting isolate - it's like a protein drip!)

It is delicous and mixes well with water. The salt content is a little high.

The flavor has been changed. I've bought this product for years, and the flavor had never changed before, but the most recent batch I bought tastes different; like it has a slightly "fruity" flavor in it. The ingredients list graphic is different from before. Although the ingredients listed are the same, there is the ambiguous category "Natural Flavors" which doesn't specify what the natural flavors are. It must be in here that the new flavor was added. Nutricost has been a very good brand in my experience, but I won't be buying this particular product in the future unless I'm desperate, because I don't want my chocolate protein to taste like fruit; nor do I want to wonder what unusual and unspecified chemical I'm ingesting.

This protein is a good selection for a grass fed whey isolate protein. Higher protein. Low sugar. Decent serving sizes. Not a lot of fillers which is nice. Whey isolate is easier to digest on the belly so take 2-3 scoops at a time does not impact your gut like a regular whey or casein (don’t use). Mixes better than regular whey. Single scoop in water is a little thin but two and the consistency is better. Only complaint is I haven’t gotten to the scooper which is buried at the bottom. Had to using a different one.
