The Intel Core i7-12700KF is an outstanding processor for gaming, streaming, and productivity. With 12 cores and boost speeds up to 5.0 GHz, it handles demanding games and multitasking with ease while staying competitive with newer CPUs. The only downside is that it runs best with a strong cooler since it can get fairly warm under heavy workloads.

Midweek insomnia hit and i impulse-bought this i7-12700KF for my dev/gaming rig. Swapped it in after work, fired up a giant Docker stack, VS Code, Chrome zoo, plus Baldur’s Gate 3. No stutter, no angry fan jet noise, just smooth frames while hot reload ran. That first lag-free deploy made me so glad I grabbed this 🤓

First time trying the i7-12700KF and I dropped it into my late‑night gaming and coding rig upgrade. I mostly compile big projects and run a couple of VMs while playing games. This chip stays snappy and my frame rates jumped. Glad I grabbed it during a random 1 a.m. scroll.

I picked up an open box fair from Amazon Renewed (formerly Amazon Warehouse) and it arrived with just the chip itself in a clamshell container which is absolutely fine as long as it works. Price was good. Chip appeared used as expected but in good shape. Installation as always is straight forward. I opted to use a contact frame and KPx thermal compound. The 12700k/kf to me is the sweet spot for 12th-14th. They are priced well, you also get the same set of 8 performance cores as you get all the way through the entire Intel line up to even the 14900KS they just don't run as high / aren't binned as well. Performance was excellent and functionality when you disable e-cores is great. Since this is 12th gen, stability is great and there is no chance of degradation. I actually used a FROZN air cooler on it and it worked well and kept it cool enough when tuned with a proper UV. If you're on any semblance of Socket 1700, this is a great CPU that gives you full 8 P cores and peace of mind for any issues.

Came in its original box. No issues and runs great. Have it at 5 ghz max over clock. So definitely a good silicon slice to me.

For the 170 I paid for it you can't get more performance for the dollar. This thing is a power house, the current Gen flag ships are of course faster but the i7-12700kf is plenty for competition level fortnite players even under stock settings, over clocked you get really get the frame rate up high on cpu based games such as fortnite. This cpu definitely has the gaming horsepower, with this cpu, 64gb of 7200mhz ddr5 and a 3060ti it runs DCS (digital combat simulator)beautifully and I mean beautifully with no bottle necking at the cpu, if anything the 3060ti is the bottle neck with this system now. Runs very efficiently with a simple 120mm aio providing the cooling, no need for a 240mm aio unless you are running extreme demand for extended amounts of time with it over clocked to the max, in that case yeah you will want a 240mm aio. A good set of intake and exhaust fans and a good 120mm aio and cooling will be of no issue for most people. This processor really is a great value considering the extremely high performance it's capable of yet at a great price and not having the need to run a 300 dollar cooling system to keep temps in check. I bought this CPU with internal graphics primarily to have backup if my primary installed GPU should fail. Also for the speed and quality of the CPU itself, it satisfies. But the internal graphics not so much. I used it's graphics for the time I was shopping and waiting for my ordered GPU and was not impressed. I would never want to depend on it permanently. My TV monitor continually had issues with detecting it's source and would drop connection on occasion, forcing me to have to continually reset HDMI cable in it's port. A real irritation and pain. Is this a problem with the MBs HDMI port or the CPU. I don't know, but either way it ain't good. Nor did I care much for the overall look of the graphics it provided. Just not quality. I have been using a big screen TV for a monitor my for many years and never had this issue, so I don't think it's the TV. Still the cost of an I7 K vs an I7 KF is negligible so why not go for the one with graphics in case I ever need it. For a short while.

I've been using the i7-12700KF for a few months now and I've been satisfied withit , Coming from an older Intel CPU, the performance jump is massive. Games run smooth, even when I have other apps open in the background. I play a lot of CS2,Valorant, and the FPS for this price is best bang for the buck. What really surprised me is how well it handles multitasking. I can game, Stream on Discord, and have multiple Chrome tabs open with barely any slowdowns. The hybrid architecture (P-cores and E-cores) seems to work really well, even though I wasn’t sure what to expect at first. Note that: this CPU doesn't come with a cooler, so make sure you have a decent aftermarket cooler or AIO. It can get a bit warm under heavy load, but with proper cooling, it stays very stable, Especially it being KF. Overall, the i7-12700KF is underrated beast for both gaming and productivity. Also note that this cpu is best gen since it never had any voltage issues unlike newer gens, If you're building a new PC and want high-end performance without going all the way to an i9, this is a great choice, Absolutely best price-to-perfomance ratio.
