I Recommend this product Great for beginners
This product is so much better than we thought. Totally recommend this product. I couldn’t seem to sync the app, but myFriend helped out and was able to get it to work (I emailed the company but they never replied) . Once that was set we were all spinning tunes.

Don’t buy if you have an android device
This was the most expensive speaker I’ve ever bought. I bought this as a gift and it wouldn’t connect to an android phone. The instructions aren’t very helpful, so I looked online and apparently it’s a common problem. It will connect to your phone to play music but you can’t use any other feature.

It had potential... Maybe a platform for modding?
I bought a MIX2GO from PSSL.com and not from amazon, but as the review title says, it had potential.I have my gripes with the way this controller/speaker handles the android side of things as you can’t use anything other than the supplied pink cable for connecting an android device and it MUST be micro USB. No USB-C devices here folks and if you lose the cable, that’s it, I’m unsure where to get a replacement. As for iOS devices, just use whatever cable suits your fancy, the unit isint picky here. The built in controller works as it should and it feels solid and well built, the jog wheels are actual metal and feel solid. The buttons are robust as well, I wish I could say the same for the rest of the unit as it appears all the budget went into the controller and not much else.Let’s start it’s the plastic, it’s chintzy, it’s a creak-fest, and it rattles sometimes at high volume. The speakers built into the unit are a disappointment, they get loud but it sounds like an AM radio being blasted full bore no highs and barely any lows and whatever bass thump there is sounds like a dry hollow thud.I took a peek underneath the grill and found two 5.25”woofers in a ported enclosure with ONE TWEETER!!! That explains why there is no highs and it also explains why there was no stereo separation as It’s set up as a mono speaker (not that anyone appreciates stereo now a days anyway). The RGB LED lights look cool though and I appreciate that some of the modes do flash and pulse to the beat. Also the Bluetooth feature is convenient if you just can’t be bothered to use this speaker as intended or if you’d rather not be feathered to the controller. In conclusion I’d say your better off not buying this unless you plan on tinkering with it. I personally plan to upgrade the speakers, line the box with eggcrate foam to quiet down the resonances, and reverse engineer the usb plug to see if I can use a tablet PC with Virtual DJ or Traktor on this thing (and see what cable is suitable for replacing the android “OTG” cable it came with).EDIT: And if you MUST have an all-in-one solution as long as you have an iOS device your in luck! Philips make a device called the M1X-DJ which looks a lot like this device (hmmm I wonder where Gemini got the idea?). In short, it’s much better engineered and is currently selling at slightly above the same price. Only drawback is that it runs on D-cell batteries when in portable mode like some 1980s boombox.EDIT #DOS:I took it apart to upgrade the speakers and found some things of interest.- it uses a lithium-ion battery as opposed to a lead-avid battery common on other speakers of this size +1 on that.- the amplifier chip is a Texas Instruments TPA-3130D2 putting out 25wpc at 4ohms-the box is made of mdf wood and the boxes are divided on the inside.

Boom!
The Gemini DJ kit is an excellent product – and price – for your budding teen music mix master. The generic but serviceable components and options offer an introductory platform for learning to mix music and beats, and the light show adds a grown-up deejay / dance party flavor to the experience. It’s a big step up from karaoke-style machines without being too technologically challenging. It uses the same pairing technology already available in a range of products such as sound machines and portable speakers. My 13-year-old mastered the specs in about a week including the impressive-looking sound board. The Gemini is basically a boom box with music mixing features. But it is also a valuable stepping stone to help your mix master eventually make the leap to more sophisticated machinery with higher-end – and more expensive - tools and performance capabilities. One year later, he’s still fiddling with and enjoying this kit, and is happy with his output. He may never take the leap to professional sound board equipment. That flexibility is a strong point in favor of the Gemini: It’s good enough, and that might be good enough for your mixer aficionado. Start here to grow – or maintain – their deejay skills.

Does not work with Apple Music
Before I review the hardware, to the extent I can, it is important to note that if you use Apple Music, this device will not work with any form of Apple Music, whether stored in the Cloud or downloaded directly to your device. Using the prescribed app for this device, the app will indicate that Apple Music cannot be used to due DRM. We tried for 2 hours with no luck. Since we rely on Apple Music, this device does not work in any capacity other than as a low-quality speaker, no mixing or creativity in any way. We have send inquiries to the manufacturer and the app point of contact with no response. The app may work with other music sources such as purchased music or Sound Cloud, but it is a complete loss with any Apple Music subscription service, whether you download the music or play from the cloud. Complete joke.Aside from the foregoing, the hardware is not too bad in terms of build quality as a home user. However, it's not something I think I would want to transport regularly. If it worked with Apple Music, I could see this product being used at parties and sleepover and it would provide an opportunity for a great deal of fun. Bluetooth hookup was seamless,Just too bad it does not work with Apple Music.
