Excellent R/C!!
To be honest, I was a little hesitant at first to buy because of the name. I am an old school R/Cer, and I'm used to Tamiya and Traxxas stuff. I haven't owned an R/C car for quite some time, though. I didn't want to shell out for a nitro, as I'm just getting back into the hobby. So I shopped around, and found this. After reading mostly very good reviews, I decided to pull the trigger. Man. I am glad that I did! This car has no dang business being this good for this price. The quality you get with this HBX car is unbelievable! It is FAST. This little thing RIPS at max speed. Holy smokes. The controls are super responsive, and the servo, suspension, and motor, are all good. They work together seamlessly, with no one thing, being a stand-out issue. I've jumped it, rolled it, flipped it, and put it though its paces. One really cool thing about this, is that even though it is a beginner R/C from a price standpoint, it has features like adjustable speed, and steering trim right on the controller. I've only ever seen that in more expensive RTR cars. My eight-year old wanted to try it out, so I turned the speed to low, before I let him bash it against our cinderblock. wall. Speaking of which, this thing is TOUGH. Even after handling a bunch of abuse dished out by my kids, it is still fully intact, and performing flawlessly. So, to HBX: consider me a fan. I absolutely love this car. There is a lot to love. I am going to get one for each of my sons for Christmas, and I really couldn't be happier with it. Which is why I jusmped on to do this review. HBX deserved high praise. They have earned it! As someone who got started with cars like the Tamiya Lunchbox, and the Tamiya Grasshopper, this HBX has completely exceeded my expectation. I recommend this car whole-heartedly, to any one who is returning (or new), to the hobby. Great buy! I definitely see more HBX R/C in my future!

AWESOME
I bought this car after doing some heavy research on an electric basher that is extremely durable. After watching Derby City RC on youtube I had to buy it. That dude puts these things through some shiz. It looked very durable, although slower than what I'm used to, (I specifically Bash with 1/5th scale RCs 36cc and up in my spare time). With this HBX 2995 I was looking for a Dog Toy. Yes a dog toy. Hence why I wanted something extremely durable and not too fast. My dogs love it. We have been having a blast with this thing since I bought it a week or so ago. It's reminiscent of watching dogs chase an armadillo around the yard. They get a good run in and have fun while doing it. So much fun that every evening since the first day we ran it they have been coming to me and begging to go out and chase the RC. It became an instant routine with them. Of course I've had a couple issues, since my dogs are biting it and knocking it over, (when they can get a hold of it), but my dogs know to stop when the car stops. So it's not complete chaos. But I've had a shock break and lost a dogbone(rear right axle) at one point. Easy to fix. Used a couple washers to fix lthe busted bottom shock endcaps and the dogbone(axle) was not bent and went right back in easy enough. Longer story short..... Definitely a durable easy to run RC. One battery lasts long enough to give my dogs a nice run and wears them out (15-20 minutes). I would recommend using a balanced charger since these are LiPo batteries. The chargers that come with these bateries/car are not balanced and if you look around you'll see people have had issues with fires. Balanced charging is way safer. It's also easy to upgrade, something I plan on doing later. If you are offroading you may want to get some bigger shocks. For the Price I don't see this being beat.

Possibly the Best 1/12 Scale Ready to Run Truck on the Market! So good!
I enjoyed my first HBX truck so much I had to try this one when I saw it! Not only does it look really good, this one also drives so good! It truly comes with everything needed to drive it – right out of the box! It has a nice controller, 2 LIPO batteries, and 2 chargers. It comes totally built/put together and is ready to go within minutes! It met its claimed 30 mph right out of the box (GPS verified) with the included LIPOs. The truck is very stable and does not tip over easy. You can slide it around on the pavement or off road. It performs well on both surfaces. The 4wd system is really capable and the adjustable oil filled shocks did a great job soaking up the rough terrain. It has really good suspension travel. Also, the tires are some of the best multi use tires I have ever used and did well on all terrains I ran it on - pavement, dirt, and sand. And it is really quick! I put in some 3s LIPOs and it went 42-46 mph (the fastest LIPOs were too big and did not fit inside the truck’s battery tray). Figure 42-44 mph on a high end 3s LIPO that fits in the truck. Like most HBX trucks, this one was very durable for me too. My 7 year old LOVED it and said it is even better than the other HBX truck I got for her about a year ago. I was worried the 45 amp electronic speed controller was undersized but I had no issues at all even running it hard on 3s. The dedicated receiver is a really nice tough too as it allows you to upgrade the transmitter/controller or ESC down the road easily. Nice touch! Really it is hard to find many things negative about this truck. I wish HBX would design this truck with a larger battery tray but honestly the run time is good – I just like to get everything I can out of my RC’s and the ability to fit bigger LIPOs would improve the already great performance. At this price, I don’t know if there is a better truck out there.

Haiboxing 2997A gets an A+++ rating from me..!! .
This is my 2nd Haiboxing RC truck, love both of them and each one has their own uniqueness about them, but I'll focus on this specific RC truck. The Haiboxing 2997A is an awesome RC truggy..!!. It came with 2 (2s) batteries, but you can run 3s batteries on this one, which I've done and let me tell you, this thing is very fast..!!.. I've read some reviews of people saying it overheated on them, I have never once had that happen with mine, not even when running back to back 3s batteries thru it.. I had that over heating thing in mind tho so I was sure to check it for over heating frequently, they say if it's too hot to touch, then it's too hot to run, well I never experienced the over heating thing, not even on a 70 degree day, on black asphalt, after running multiple 3s batteries thru it..!!. Not only is this truck beautiful to look at, it's just a really fun truck to drive. As you can see in the video I attached, I've got a huge parking lot to run my RC's , I can really open them up on the straight aways and see what they can do, and I was not disappointed by the 2997A , not even a little.. I'm a very happy customer.. As for customer service? Absolutely top notch..!!.. The seller went far above and beyond just to ensure that I was a happy customer, so not this one but the very first Haiboxing truck I purchased was really my very first *real* RC truck, I'm about to turn 50 years old in 2 months, and the only experience I had with RC cars was way back when I was a child, and the RC cars we would play with had the car attached to the controller by a wire😂 The ones we played with you were lucky if you got a full day out of a brand new RC car before it was completely destroyed, to see how far these things have came along since my youth is really something, the technology behind these things are incredible, and in my humble opinion and with my very limited knowledge about RC cars and trucks, I gotta say that I think I've just gotten lucky and purchased one of the best brands of RC cars/trucks available today.. sure you could spend $1,000 and get that big name brand RC, hey if that's what you wanna do, I say go for it, as for me tho, being that I'm just starting in this hobby, I surely wasn't about to put down $700-$1,000 (or more) for my first real RC truck, from what I can tell it looks like Haiboxing has quite a few sub $200 RC cars/trucks , and I feel like the two I have (so far) are honestly some of the best on the market, in any price range..!!. Right now I've got my eye on the Haiboxing 1:18 brushless truck 👀, and I'm for sure going to be picking one up very soon.. Hey if you're looking at the 2997A and you're a little on the fence about actually buying it, I would say DO IT..!!.. you will not be disappointed, but don't just take my word, do what I did, watch every video you can find on this awesome RC truggy, read everything you can find online about it. I'm sitting at home right now, watching it rain, and just praying that the sun comes out so I can hit the parking lot and get some driving time in, even at nearly 50 years old, I wake up like a little kid and run straight to my Haiboxing trucks, trying to decide which one to take out first, love these trucks..!!..

Good Value Rc..Not the best Customer Service
Let me start off by saying this RC Car is really cool for the price. I have been in the hobby for 20 years, and I've had many hobby grade rc cars, such as Traxxas, Axial, HPI and many other leading brand rc cars. I am pretty experienced and really enjoy my cars, as I'm sure many of you do as well. Most of the cars I own are upgraded and super fast, so I wanted to get my kids an entry level rc car to start their own personal growth into the hobby. I didn't want to "break the bank" on a $300+ Traxxas etc, so I did some Amazon "research" into possible rc cars I could get for my 5 kids ( ages 2-14) and I came across Haiboxing (the cool kids call them HBX 😎) and I also looked at DEERC and Hosim and probably a few other. All of them where extremely similar, but varied by battery end connectivity and Mah size, wich breaks down into run time, for those who don't know. Anyway, Haiboxing was the brand I decided to go with, because the value for the price seemed like the better choice at the time. I really liked the look of the rc car and the extras that came with it. It was really cool that it had an ESC/Motor, Servo, 2 Batteries, 2 extra tires and the LIGHTS. I love lights. Lol. They aren't super expensive, but if they come for free that's a big plus. It has the front lights, "roof" mounted lights and even the rear red "brake" lights. I thought the kids would enjoy that. So with all of the things included, and the fact that you could upgrade the car later, I figured I might as well go for it. I'm a little bitter about the purchase though. When it arrived, we opened it up, excited to play, and I noticed the steering horn was broken right out of the box..the kids where so upset, and I was shocked. I wondered how this could get past "quality control " and I did what any dad would do..I tried to my best to figure out how to fix it. It had no extra steering parts or anything that would help fix it, so I contacted the customer service through Amazon. The car comes with a card that says to email them through Amazon or their email. I emailed them(they are located in China) and it took over 24hrs for them to get back to me. They said they would order me parts and that's all they offered. No partial refund or anything. I wrote them back and forth a couple times and each time it took over 24hrs(very frustrating 😒) The rc car arrived Monday 1/16/23 and the parts won't arrive until Monday 1/23/23 to Tuesday 1/24/23. That's a week+ . Honestly I get it, things take time, but super disappointing and as a father it sucked for me to see the kids so disappointed. I reached out to them an asked if they could provide me with a decent discount on another car if I ordered more from them. I figured I'd give them a chance to provide me with a decent customer service experience. I was hoping maybe 20% off another car..they offered me $10 off another car. I did appreciate that they tried, but to be honest I was also disappointed in their offer and hoped they would have done better. I just wanted to feel helped and valued and I also figured with Amazon Prime 2 day shipping I could get another car here for the kids to play with until the parts arrived to fix it. Let's be honest..could I have returned it? Yes, I could have, but I dislike sending things back like that, because some people that order the same item actually receive the used item you sent back. Most don't, but some do. It took me multiple days to figure it out, but that's what happened to me. The steering servo horn was broken by a previous customer who returned the item. I thought the tires look ever so slightly worn down(just a pinch) almost like the "new car smell" was faded. Lol. You know what sold it for me? What sold it for me was the darn sticker sheet that comes with the car. (Picture attached) it was missing nearly ALL the stickers.lol. I didn't realize it until I already talked to the company and figured why even tell them. They won't do anything for me anyway. They seemed upset that I even asked for a discount to buy another car from them. So...to remedy the servo horn situation I borrowed my Slash 4x4 steering servo horn and used it on the Haiboxing car to make it work for the kids. (My poor Slash) Lol. Anyway, if you got this far, I appreciate you taking the time and going on this ranting journey with me. Let me tell you this... this car is definitely worth the money for a beginner or a 20+ year rc veteran. It has 2 1600mah batteries that are dean, so you get decent play time, and it handles WAY better than I imagined it would. It was my first inexpensive rc car, so I was pleasantly surprised by that. It also has a speed control dial that allows you to dial down the speed for the beginner or younger kid to use. If you're "on the fence" about it, I'd push you over the fence and say go for it and try it out. Even though I dislike the customer service I received, I would still recommend the car and will definitely be buying another one for my kids. I just won't rely on the customer service much. I hope this review helped you in your purchasing decision and I hope you have a blast with whatever rc car you decide to purchase.

My favorite RC car
Let me start off saying, I love the HBX2995. I own probably 13 or 14 RC cars. I have quite a few HBX just because their so durable and for the price they honestly can't be beat. This 2995 is the only brushed RC that I own. When I bought it, I also ordered a new motor and ESC to upgrade to brushless (the motor from HBX 2997A) but after I received the car and took it out and drove it I realized I didn't need to upgrade it. Its a 550 brushed motor and provides plenty of power. The torque and power is perfect in my opinion. I've drove it through everything you can think of from construction sites to playgrounds etc and I have ZERO complaints. The center differential makes all the difference in the in the world (my HBX 2996 has center differential also). Don't let it being a brushed motor prevent you from buying it, it's super easy to drop a brushless motor in it if you wanted to at some point if you feel you need it. The HBX 2995 is a fantastic car and worth every penny whether on sale or regular price. I highly recommend it.

So Fun!
I was into RC cars when I was younger. Now that my kids are getting older I wanted to get something that we could play with together but also didn't want to spend a ton of money. I am thoroughly impressed with this truck. Build quality is good with lots of metal parts. It's also fast! The manual also includes a full list of replacement parts you can buy. I love that you can adjust the top speed...which will hopefully prevent my kids from driving it into a wall.

The 1/18th is more fun
It's not bad, but frankly if you can score the 1/18th HBX on sale for $80 it's more fun. This unit isn't bad for the price, but I thought it would do a little better in grass (I have lush thick lawn I'll admit) but it's cut at 3.5". Anyways, that's a negative ghost rider it's zero percent better in the grass and maybe even a tad worse. It's too nose heavy doing jumps and the turning radius is my biggest disappointment. My 8 yo was dying to try mine. We have some nice ramps out back, good spacious are to play and I'm just a minute my kid wanted to trade back to his 1/18th. I'm sure they'll be surfaces and times this truck will be awesome, but in my conventional back yard and driveway the 1/18th is the way to go. AND the 1/18th turned down to slow does really good inside with it's superior turning radius. Ty

Batteries are defect
I bought this truck as a gift to my son. We received the car in good condition after a long wait because it was shipped from abroad and we were really excited to try it. Unfortunately we got to try it only twice and it was awesome but then the batteries stop charging. I tried to replace the batteries only through Amazon but I could not. The only option available is to return the truck back and place a new order. My son is disappointed and he is not willing to wait again so I am trying to locate and purchase the battery locally at my own expense to avoid the long wait again.

A must buy for hobby lovers bought for 26k value for money compared with all other hobby sites. Very sturdy and very fast led lights are main plus compared to other rc cars
