Just Right
This multicultural book reimagines the story of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” against the backdrop of Chinese New Year. Goldy Luck is a relatable protagonist - tired and trailed by bad luck - until an encounter with The Chans, her neighbors who happen to be panda bears. The book is educational about the themes and customs of the holiday. There is additional information at the end, which includes a recipe for the turnip cakes featured in the story. My toddler enjoys the book and often requests “Goldy.” As a parent, I appreciate the lessons on friendship and accountability as well as the use of interesting verbs to convey the actions of the characters.

My toddler loves this book!
I've read this book 100 + times, my toddler wants me to read it over and over again. It's beautifully illustrated and helped us learn about Chinese culture and traditions. Highly recommend :)

A must-have for Asian American kiddos
Great way to work Lunar new year into story-time, and since we bought this just before Lunar, it was also introduced just in time for a trip to the New Year parade. Book has been a hit with my kid after the parade too, since now she wants to flip to the "dragon" page over and over. My only criticism of the book itself is that I wish the authors had incorporated the New Year's tradition of other Asian cultures, or at least used the "lunar" new year naming convention instead of "Chinese" new year, since Koreans, Vietnamese, as well as other Asian groups celebrate it as a big holiday also.

Lovely telling of a classic
We enjoyed this book so much, and kicked off a week of international breakfasts with congee. Brightly and beautifully drawn, we enjoyed reading it multiple times during our week focus on this tale.

Very cute book! I’m happy with my purchase. I’m a kindergarten teacher and I bought it for my classroom. I think that the kids will be very excited to see new books and toys when they come back to school after the lockdown.

A great alternative to Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Great to incorporate another culture. Children love it.

A lovely book, cute illustrations and best of all Goldi says sorry for her breakages and tries to make amends. A different take on the Chinese New Year story too.

LOVE this book, a fun twist on goldilocks and the three bears, except this book has a better ending and it's theme is around Chinese New Year. A well made book and great illustration, would highly recommend!
