Is there a convenient way to store these pieces?

Not with the kit no. I bought a little craft organizer case to put them in.

How much assembly is required for this set? Will I need glue?

Yes you will need glue, I used wood glue, from Home Depot. Assembly required, but the instructions are easy enough. Also, you’ll need a razor blade for some as they may not be fully laser cut through.
