Would this be useful to open a key fob automotive remote to change the battery

Possibly, but consider a few things: 1) instructions in your manual or on youtube; 2) if the fob has an indent made to permit prying it open, careful use of one the smaller tools from this kit may work IF you are careful not to mar your fob's outer case while using it; 3) first, practice on an old phone or other device held together by friction tabs to see how much force is needed without visibly damaging the case. These tools work on devices larger than a key fob BUT just might get the job done if you are careful not to apply too much force. Too much force will mar the fob's case or possibly break it. If disaster happens... look into purchasing a replacement fob case.
