This would have been fine except this item is used for food preparation, so I'm going to have to pass. To make matters worse, the mouthpiece has a metal mesh which is held together with PLASTIC! i.e. your boiling hot water will come pouring through plastic. How stupid is that? **Q: What country made this item?** A: In addition to the other answers regarding how misleading this is, it also brings to light that the 'Report incorrect product information' link does not work on this item and also appears to be 'void' on a sample of other items I have looked at. Amazon got in some trouble just last year with deceptive advertising and appears to not have a mechanism to address it. Yes, this item would cost more if it were domestic. Regardless, consumers should have a clear indication of origin in the description and details to make an informed purchasing decision. **Q: Is the spout plastic or stainless steel?, as i dont want boiling water to come in contact with plastic** A: I’m not sure why some folks have replied that the plastic spout is “safe”. Recently, study after study have warned that no plastic is “safe” to come into contact with food, particularly boiling water. And that includes “BPA free” plastics. Study after study have shown that our bodies are being polluted by micro plastics. This kettle is NOT SAFE for precisely that reason, BPA-free or not. There are a few plastic-free kettles out there if you search hard enough. **Q: Can you turn the product off before it comes to a full boil?** A: I have. you do not have to wait for auto shut off. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fast Boiling, Stylish & Reliable *by G***E on 10 July 2026* This kettle is fantastic! It boils water very quickly, looks great with its glass design, and is easy to use. I like the automatic shut-off feature for added safety, and it’s simple to clean. A reliable, high-quality kettle that I would definitely recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It boils water quickly and has quiet a large capasity and looks smart *by D***N on 15 July 2026* Good cheep kettel quite good looking easy to fill boils quick has a great capasity and it boils water ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good kettle, but the trim didn’t stay on. *by F***Z on 30 January 2025* The kettle itself is really good. It’s the first kettle I’ve owned, where the flick switch doesn’t bounce back up if you take it off the stand (while boiling) to add more water, which to me is a plus. Aesthetically, it looks good, but the trim at the top of mine kept pinging off on one side after we’d had it a few days. It got really annoying and hard to put back on when the kettle is full of hot water, so my partner removed the trim altogether. It doesn’t really detract too much from the appearance, but I’ve knocked one star off for this, as a little more thought into the design would have prevented this happening, as the trim was tucked into the handle on both sides. The lid needs removing altogether to fill, and it fits on really well, with a satisfying ‘click’ into place, and doesn’t get too hot to touch, if you need to refill to reuse straight away. I don’t consider it to be a noisy kettle, but obviously you can hear it as it heats the water up. It’s not as tall as my previous kettle, although it holds the same amount of water, it’s just slightly wider round the girth of the kettle instead. It doesn’t take too long to boil, I’ve had slower kettles, it all depends on the wattage of the kettle of course. I boiled my kettle twice (and discarded the water each time) before using it to make tea/coffee, but there were no obvious ‘factory odours’ lingering on the kettle prior to first boiling. Overall, it doesn’t what it’s supposed to do, and I’m happy with that. ## Frequently Bought Together - Chefman Electric Kettle for Boiling Water, 1.8L 1500W, Removable Tea Infuser, Auto Shut Off, Boil-Dry Protection, BPA Free, Borosilicate Glass, Hot Water Boiler, Electric Tea Kettle - Stainless Steel - Tiesta Tea - Discovery Tea Sampler Dry Flight Set | High to No Caffeine Hot & Iced Tea, Up to 200 Cups | Loose Leaf Tea Variety Pack with Green, Herbal, Black & Chai Tea - 20 Resealable Sample Pouches - Tiesta Tea - Blueberry Wild Child | Blueberry Hibiscus Herbal Tea | Premium Loose Leaf Tea Blend | Non-Caffeinated Fruit Tea | Make Hot or Iced Tea & Brews Up to 25 Cups - 1.8oz Resealable Pouch --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/383307051-chefman-electric-glass-kettle-fast-boiling-w-led-lights-auto](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/383307051-chefman-electric-glass-kettle-fast-boiling-w-led-lights-auto) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
