Excellent product - simple, but so effective!
I tried Safer brand sticky strips (they come as yellow strips with green plastic stakes to put into the ground). Those Safer stakes are very good, quite effective against fungus gnats (my primary problem). But, they are expensive and small. I then tried another brand of 3x5 sticky yellow cards, and that product was useless for fungus gnats. They would land right on the card and [often] just fly away. THIS brand - I just knew they would be effective!. They are simple but brilliant. Yellow cards, you fold them inside-out and hang them anywhere. The sticky area is uber-sticky, as someone else said it almost looks like it's covered in blobs of vaseline. I suspect that if I were to accidentally get one of these opened cards stuck onto my shirt or skin it'd be a bit on the yucky side, but for fungus gnats (and I imagine a whole host of other bugs) - these things are excellent! If you are considering yellow sticky paper for insect issues - this one works simply and amazingly well!

These Things Work!!!...In The Garden And In The House
These little suckers work!!! How about that. I purchased them in early spring. Some of my houseplants had those nagging little fungus flies. I took one of these yellow cards and cut it into little squares. I placed two pieces directly against the side of the pots on the soil in each pot. Within hours those little buggers were attracted to the yellow and that was that. They ARE waterproof. I still have those same pieces laying on top of the soil in my pots. When I water, the little traps just float, or get wet..whatever...it doesn't matter. They're still sticky so are still working. As the weather got warmer I had several species of flies in my garden. I just hung a whole card up and it went to work right away. Oh, and don't forget those fruit flies that invade the kitchen when you've got fresh fruit sitting around. I actually hung one in an out of the way spot near my kitchen counter. It attracted the fruit flies. Now that made me happy. I like them. THEY ARE STICKY!!! If you cut them, use old scissors if you've got them. You can wash this stuff off but it does NOT just rinse off. Hey, that's what makes them last so long and catch so many critters.

works well with all insects; highly recommend
You can use these for other bugs too. I started off by placing some on my rose bush, and I can see all the insects they caught. I cut each into 3 pieces (do this before you pull them apart) so I have more to place on the plant; I place them on the branches and stick them onto the thorn so they stay on the bush and not fall off. I have two cats and between the food and their waste I get all kinds of pests indoors, so I started putting them around places like the garbage can, by the sink, above the cat litter boxes, etc and I've caught the gnats, flies, and other unidentified bugs as well. Again, I cut them into three pieces, then half those, so I get up to six pieces out of each trap. It's a great way to stretch the 15 pieces they give you. Base on the bugs on the sticky traps, I'm getting great results. Other reviewers noted about the sticky residues - it is hard to get them off, but for all the bugs they caught, it is definitely worth the trade-off Highly recommend

They work!
These traps helped me get rid of a nasty little whitefly problem on my houseplants. I did use these traps indoors, so I'm not sure how effective they are when used outdoors. The traps were great for trapping the adult whiteflies, thereby keeping them from multiplying further, but I also took some advice I found online and washed each of the infested plants with plenty of soapy water to get rid of eggs and larva that were stuck to the underside of the leaves. You have to really get in there and rub each leaf individually with soapy water and then rinse well, because the eggs that they lay are very sticky and you want to remove all of that stuff before they hatch. I used dishwashing detergent and even though it was a pain, I was able to get rid of those nasty bugs that were killing my plants. So the traps didn't singlehandedly solve my problem, but they absolutely helped. They do what they're supposed to do, but I recommend a good washing of the plants if you're serious about getting rid of these pests. This package of 15 was a really good value. I assumed I would get 15 strips or whatever, but I got 15 large sticky traps that were more than enough to spread throughout the apartment around all of my plants, and I still have some left over, which hopefully I will not have to use. It was a really good deal for the price, and the traps arrived within a few days of ordering. Very satisfied.
